Loving the rear wishbone suspension and inspired Eco boot. But the continued double rear window shield still gives me a minor headache.

i like just about everything. sure, there are a few improvements i'm still waiting for, like the rear window. i can only assume they haven't been able to pull it off aerodynamically. but at least there is much overall improvement, and nothing went backward.

exterior lighting, less obstructed views, better seats, better console, better screens, more pertinent info, quieter, better mpg, quicker warm up, li-on battery, larger 12 volt under the hood, the list goes on.

i'm glad you started this thread. all the others are about what people don't like. though, it no doubt will devolve into that quickly.

Looking at Danny's reviews, I like everything but the looks and agree with bisco. Hopefully it looks better in person or grows on me. It usually takes about a generation for me to starting liking a new car's design anyway.

Gotta ask: what's "inspired ECO boot"? Maybe just slow today...

Don't much like the exterior looks, seems inspired by Pokémon artists. Don't like the dash either..., actually really dislike it. Not thrilled that all the rims have plastic now. Don't like the high, sloping-to-rear waist line. Don't like the limited levels having spare tire. Don't like the loss of under-hatch-floor tray.

I like that they put the 12 volt battery back in the engine bay. :)

Actually he asked what our thoughts were on the new gen 4 Prius, not what we liked about the new gen 4 Prius, so not sure why you think all the comments on this thread would be positive and not mixed with some negative as well.

Guess nobody will really know for sure if all the potential positive changes are good until people have been driving the car for a while. I've given my opinion on the new design on other threads so I won't comment here.

I really like the wrap around interior for one thing. Reminds me of my old Crx Si.

Can I recommend to adjust your rearview mirror so you use only the upper portion of the rear window (the bar ends up at the bottom of the rearview mirror).
Took me a long time to settle on the above, but it works best for me and there is no bar in middle of rearview.

Can solve this by cutting a piece of cardboard taped inside, no more visibility from the lower portion, visibility of most 4-door coupes these days.

For most people, the angle of the lower window (from your head to the rear of the car) makes it so only close objects are seen. Everything else is visible through the upper part. It covers your normal field-of-view. The headache would be caused by having to deal with tailgaters, which isn't just a visual distraction. The separator-bar comes in handy for blocking their headlights.

The lower window is further out and comes down more than in sedans. That gives you more to view when backing out of a parking spot, a nice bonus often not seen (pun intended o_O).

Don't think that would be a good idea for me. Sometimes like to sit up and see more of car behind at stoplights.

Well look on the positive side. While most posts about the new car are negative, hardly anyone's actually seen it in real life, much less driven it. Those that have seen it and driven it, say it doesn't suck.

Ironically, there are many who see a vehicle and praise it without ever a test-drive, then end up buying something else.

That happens countless times at autoshows. There is no correlation between what people say verses what they actually do is far from new. In fact, it's so common we don't even call it hypocritical. It's become the norm. The practicality of minivans won out over the supposed "hideous" look and gutless engine. People who say they wouldn't ever wanted to be associated with them ended up with one, the same people who made "ooh" and "aah" sounds whenever they'd see a sport car.

Interestingly, the supposed terrible look of the backend of the new Prius can already be found on the road. The Volvo XC60 also has long curved LED tail-lights. I see them routinely. It isn't a cheap vehicle either. People are paying good money for that.

Don't be sorry i was looking forward to everyone's thought good or bad. I've had the luck to see one and was surprised to the changes. like for instance a real big thing for me was the fact that i am 6'3 and can barley fit in the Prius but, with a few minor ajustmnce i can spread my legs out. Lastly what i meant by "inspired Eco boost", is that we did not create the system we are going to use in the new Prius. we grasped the idea of what ford and the Tesla have accomplished. not to say the gen 4 will be the new Tesla but we now have the capability to have more then a sports button.

you're starting to lose me shea.

    1) when you say 'we', do you mean prius drivers, or you and toyota?

    2) what is a 'sports button'?

    3) what idea exactly, have ford and tesla accomplished, that 'we' have grasped?

    4) what can we now have, more than a sports button, which we don't even have?

    My thoughts?

I look forward to the day when my Prius can be driven downtown and garner "come hither" looks from beautiful women.
I also imagine the "fun" of sporty handling and rapid acceleration.

Toyota has been telling me this is obtainable.
Who's really dreaming here will be revealed in the next couple of years.
