Out of curiosity, what mods are done to the Prius, for taxi service? In the old days, fleet/taxi/police vehicles had heavy duty suspension components, and often heavy duty or performance engines. If that's the case for the Prius, I would love to find those parts for mine.

    Merry Christmas!

Check the HV battery fan regularly for fluff/fur and change the engine oil regularly.

Otherwise that's about it in addition to normal servicing.

The Prius suspension is more than fine for the taxi job. We have LOTS of speed bumps here, and many older ones are just massive lumps in the road, or sump scrapers, and quickly wear suspension parts, especially in a taxi where you will often carry more weight (passengers).

The Prius lasted very well suspension wise.

If you want to run a Prius as a taxi, do so. There are millions of other drivers out there doing so.

If you will drive like a maniac towel head NYC taxi driver, nothing will last an eternity.

In taxi school they teach you that the faster you hit a pothole the more likely you are to glide right over it. Well, either that or it'll rip your suspension off. One day you win, one you don't.

I think it is dependent as to how deep and how large in diameter the pothole is.

Years back I'd take speed bumps at a good clip; now I go dead slow, practically a crawl. Hate them.
