I'm wondering if anyone could share ideas on inexpensive floor mats. I live in rainy Oregon and the mud and wet ruins floors pretty quickly. I'm hoping for under $50 if possible. I've been eyeing this semi-custom set on Amazon made by Motor Trend, but I'd prefer to have custom fit if possible.

Costco all weather rubber mats. They come in gray or brown.

I would go for the Toyota mats that Delta Flyer listed -- I paid $65 for my wife's Gen II genuine Toyota mats back in 2008.

I cheaped out with my Toyota, first buying a set of rubberXXX (rubbermaid, rubberqueen?) for around $40 and later a $50 "custom" guaranteed to fit set from Amazon, I forget the Amazon set's brand, but besides having to hack away at the fit to actually get them to fit, they do only a marginal job.

Oh, and I had to soak the Amazon set in baking vanilla for three days before I could put them in the car, they stunk so bad.

    Wife's mats work beautifully.

I know that WT is not cheap but wife bought a set for the 04 Lexus RX330 and they did fit well for that. As for the Prius we went with one set from top-of-the-line WALMART ($23?) and left it at that. Other Prius has originals in great condition so I lucked out.

Our Sienna came with WeatherTechs and I do like them quite a bit. I like how they fit well and easy to clean - just hosed them off today, actually. But man, they cost a lot. The whole point of buying the Prius was to save $$. Not sure if I'm losing sight of that with mats

We had Weathertech in our honda but switched to these ones Rubber Car Mats available at Travall USA last year. My wife actually prefers them because they smell better, I might try and see if I can find a set for the new Prius. Same quality as weathertech but better smelling/fast shipping

I bought weathertech digital fit liners and admit I wouldn't make the purchase again.
I don't like the way the material scuffs and shows dirt.

    They protect fine.

I think if I was to purchase again, I'd go with a rubber mat, or husky liner. I think they wear better and hide 'some" of the dirt and muck you track in.

I really recommend however getting a custom fit. I think it's potentially safer, and you want precise coverage if protection is your goal.

Unfortunately for a custom fit, there really is no super inexpensive choice.
But it's an area that I think the investment worth it.

I ended up ordering some Aries mats off eBay.

They were $57, including shipping. They usually run over $100, so I figure it's a good deal. I prefer mats that're deeper because dirt and gunk always seem to collect around the edges of other mats I've had. And these apparently look more sleek? Not that that's a huge deal. I'll post when they come in.

Okay, the Aries ones came in today. It's been all stormy and wet lately, so I took all of 2 minutes and just threw them in. These were used, btw.

I didn't even clean the floors or the mats first. I'll do all that when the weather clears a bit. They seem to fit well. I went out and ran around a bit afterwards and forgot they were in there except for one moment when I realized I'd gotten mud on them (and not the floor).

I'll clean them and the floor up and take updated pictures when the lighting is better.

Costco. $14.99 for front and back seat floor mats. Sure they don't fit perfectly, but for the price they're gold.
