Looks like in September of 2006 for $68.11 USD we'll finally be able to buy a 1:43 perfect scale-model of a MiniChamps Toyota Prius Model (P/N 400 166301 TOYOTA PRIUS 2004 BLACK). Pretty cool eh? I'm going to order one, that's for certain!
They sell those on Ebay every so often...usually a seller in Hong Kong or Singapore. Priced between $50-75 for the 1/43 replica. I want a black one too...but haven't been able to justify spending that kind of money on a toy car yet.
Way cool. I have the black one from eBay. It was the one that was given to Japanese buyers while they waited for the cars they ordered. I've heard the Minichamps is much nicer. I'm so glad it's coming out in black. I'll order one for sure. Thanks for the heads up. There is one that you pull back and then it "drives" down the road. I got that on eBay too. It'd driftwood. I want one of those in black too but I don't know if they make them. The seller didn't think so.
I bought a Salsa Red Mini Champ prius about a month ago. Its nice. I think its an 04 Euro. Something like 1440 were made. I would like a 1:20 or 1:16 scale 2006 Barcelona Red Euro better.
I got the Salsa Minichamps 1:43 model a few months ago for thirty some dollars ($36?) from www.classictoysnyc.com.
B) I purchased a 1/34 scale model of our Prius, working doors, Black paint and gray interior (Just like ours) from Toyota Hollywood Parts department for about $8.00. It has a spring drive, so roll it back a foot or two and let go! Perhaps the other ones mentioned on this topic are really high quality or mounted in a case, but we like our little model Prius just fine. - - - Nda3rdCar
I bought a 1:1 Classic Silver scale model back in December. Works just like the real thing! Pretty cool!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Nda3rdCar @ May 6 2006, 02:18 PM) </div> Oooo. That's exactly what I wanted. The pull back spring drive car in black. Do they sell over the internet?
I got a Red Prius - not exactly Salsa Red but still red - from my Toyota dealer's parts department for $5.99. I was very excited to see them - only others I'd seen were on ebay for $65. It says 'Kinsmart' on the bottom and the doors open but not the hatch. It is a pull-back car. Yeah, my son thinks I'm nuts.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JackDodge @ May 7 2006, 06:31 PM) </div> I got one in blue on eBay. It cost me 10 cents, plus $5 shipping (it came from Singapore).
