Finally upgraded from my 2005 base Prius with 129,900 miles. Had not planned on purchasing so soon. Was thinking of a new Prius in about a year. My 2005 was the most trouble free and low maintenance vehicle I have ever owned. In a way sorry and sad to see "Sakura" go. Happen to stumble on this 2013 Prius Plug in Advance while looking on Craig's List. Vehicle has 26,100 miles. Clean Car Fax. Sold by a major car manufacturer, non Toyota as a trade in. Dealer wanted $18,000. Purchased for $16,500 plus tags and tax. Under factory warranty through end of March of next year. Had just purchased new Bridgestone Eccopia's LRR for my 2005 in September. Dealer allowed me to switch tires (original factory Goodyear tires on Plug in) to new vehicle. So new purchase has new tires. Was thinking of waiting for the new Prius 4, however, love the shape of the Generation 3 and all of the features in the Advance model. Everything I could want in a Prius plus I love the color. I could not be happier. My only question is to extend factory warranty through Toyota before original warranty expires? Finally, thanks to all of the members in Prius Chat for helping me to be better educated on these wonderful vehicles!
wow! great price. welcome to the pip club! i'm not much on extended warranties, keep in mind you have 3/36, 5/60 and 10 150. all the best!
Even though I got a good deal, at the time, on a close out 2012 PIP Advance, can't compare to your deal. I have a 2014 BMW i3 BEV as my primary driver, but I still love my Prius PIP. There's no way I'd sell my PIP that cheap. It's my wife's and my third vehicle and no need what so ever to part company.
Sweet deal!! I'm jealous particularly if it's Winter Gray! Like bisco, I'm not a huge fan of extended warranties. I don't know the details of the Toyota's extended warranty but some things to consider - does it include regular maintenance? - what is the deductable? - does it include electronics like Nav/Bluetooth etc that you would want to fix if they break? Enjoy!!
Congratulations! Great deal! I'm so glad I saw this... I just found one a few hours from me... 2012, 45000 miles, Plug-In Advanced, White (my favorite)... they want $18500, I offered $16000. Your deal is better (year newer, half the miles), but I still feel ok at $16K. They're hard to come by up here. One local dealer seems to love them, has many in stock, but charges way too much for them. So, after seeing this... If they accept my offer, would you do it? Or is this too high now? hehehe... Congrats again! Thanks for sharing your win! (Ok, Silver is officially my favorite... white is second favorite... Yours looks great!)
Congrats that really is a great deal! I've done a ton of research and that's literally one of the best price/mileage combo I've seen. New member here too, my first post!! I just purchased a Plug-in Prius Advanced CPO and absolutely love it (Winter Gray). Literally EVERY feature... leather, seat warmers, literally nothing else could be added lol. 45kmi, no accidents + clean car fax. Dealer wanted 20k, and after 12 hours negotiating got it for 17,950 cash. Aaand the DMV just approved and sent me HOV stickers yay! Look forward to posting more! I can see why the Prius has such a loyal fan base =)
At $16,000 I would probably do it. The off brand dealership that I purchased from mentioned to me that if they were a Toyota dealership they would be able to get more for the car I bought. I believe that after looking at different Toyota dealer's inventories. It seems a lot of the Toyota dealerships locally do not have much in the way of Prius CPO vehicles or they sell fairly quickly. Interesting enough, after purchasing I saw another Advanced model being sold by someone in NYC on Craig's List. 2012 Sea Glass Pearl with 18,000 miles and the seller was asking $17,000. I saw the ad for about a week and now it is gone. That looked like a great deal! Good luck with your decision. I love my new "pre-owned" car.
They countered at $16700. If they'll give me $2K for my car, I'll probably do it. I'm going to run the carfax on it today, I think, to be sure it's not got any obvious things wrong with it. There is a blue one (Strongly dislike that color) at a local dealer for $2K more with only 20K miles on it... tempting, as they offer a lifetime powertrain warranty. We'll see. Thanks for your feedback!
TOTALLY is... hehehe. I strongly dislike the dealer, personally. Even my neighbor works for them and won't buy a car there any more.
