The car all that requires is a reset which any dealer and some locksmiths can do. If your car has not been in any accidents(damaged key antenna)
Most likely you are using the wrong key. 2011 uses ACX or AAB

Can you break down the keys needed for 2010-2015? Are they all different by year? The Gen2 cars were pretty much all compatible through 2004-2009

All, I asked ovni to join this conversation because I know him to be the hands down expert on all things keys. Additionally he is a fellow Navy vet. :)

I would try an AAB type keyfob regardless of Toyota's serial number database. I know of at least one 2011 Prius that had an AAB keyfob, My guess is that the whole Fukushima/tsunami disaster disrupted Toyota's supply of ACX equipment, and they substituted the AAB equipment. So most US Gen3 Prius have ACX, but there are a few 2011 models with AAB.

Has to be AAB "E" board! Don't forget that part.

When ever I do an all keys lost job for a 2011 and 2012, I always bring both FCC.
