Passing wire through the door rubber tunnel is another job. Am easy go lazy.

So I tested and found a constant 12v in the door. I think its shutter winder. But it in was a socket to the front from near shutter switch connector inside in door panel.

    Got everything sorted
    1. Auto folding mirrors
    2. Welcome light (didn't want to play with wire harness. Connected easily to driver dome light holder. So operates along with driver dome bulb )
    3. Running light (used your recommendation)

    Next step.
    1. Can I use "ready" signal or on signal instead ACC for running light.
    2. On/off Switch for auto mirror. So doesn't fold at locking. (know how to do this, need to find a good dash switch)
    3. On/off Switch for running light. (need to find a good dash switch)

    Pls give your suggestions

    Thanks sfv for links.
    I've already fixed these items
    Now,
I have two empty slots for dash switches. Wanna use those for
    1. Disable auto folding mirror
    2. Running light
So I'm looking for just 2 pin on/off dash panel switches. And couldn't find it in eBay.
Also a way to tap "ready" or "on" signals for running light

    Not really
    It's a JDM car
By default it has turn lights in mirror
So the supply was available inside mirror housing for turn lights

That's right....I keep forgetting u guys already have that feature.

In the foot well junction, there is a 36 pin connector (the largest 1), in that connector, there will be a brown wire. This will be for the running lights. Let me see if I can find a pic

    thanks sfv...
    great share.
so you connected your running / pilot light to the parking lights?

I used the red wire on the passenger side footwell; this wire also had a fuse.
and its on at ACC mode.

Seems to me the light is not powerful. then i connected positive to the connector in the fuse box in engine room [just to check light power] and saw it was the same.
so this red wire gave me the maximum possible light power. and its not enough.

is there a way to increase light illumination / power?

Negative. The white running light on the mirror is just bright enough for night use. Its too Sun for day use. No way to change it

    sfv,

I purchased a set of folding mirrors and received them yesterday from China. The eBay user is laxparts (laxparts) and the cost including postage was $324 (the details of the actual seller is “Ru Yun Lue [email protected]”). They doen’t come with a dash switch though. Here’s pics of what I received which seem like the newest version of your post from a few years back.

    Attached:
    1) KeyLight Parts Brochure - the laxparts people that sold them to me
    2) Prius Mirror Assy Wiring - this is the wires specific to the folding mirrors - doesn’t include other wires in the mirror cable unfortunately
    3) Control Assy Wires - this is the controller that works with the mirrors and needs to be wired to the prius sources and then to the mirrors - no switch for the dash :(
    4) Image 632 - 641 are what was in the package in addition to the items #1-#3 above.

I’m not quite ready to work on installing them as I have lots of things higher priority. However, in the next few months will work on getting it done. I don’t think these have the courtesy light/dome light feature. They do have LED turn signals and may be able to have them used for parking lights too?

Ok. This is what I see:

    The good:

These are indeed Power Folding Mirrors w/JDM signals (same as found on 13+ Personas)

    The Bad:

    No Switch
    Controller is not PNP

I can tell u that even if these are for the Prius, they are for the JDM Prius. The mounts will position the mirrors in a different angle than the USDM mirrors.

The wiring is different. The green & blue wire is for the folding function. On the US Prius there are 2 black wires for the heating function in those pin locations.

The pink & white wires are for the turn signal. The US Prius will not have these wires or even the connector.

The others are for the movement of the glass. These are not in the same pin positions as the US mirror.

My recommendation is to gut the JDM mirrors & swap the folding motor into ur US mirrors.

The switch can be bought on eBay. The controller is where u will be doing ur own R&D.

Looking over the controller instructions.....it states that if u don't have the dash switch to just leave the orange & purple wires disconnected

Yeah, I’m going to order the dash switch from eBay. Just wasn’t sure on if it would fit my existing hole where my mirror adjustment switch is located.

Also, do you know how to get the wires out of the white connector to move them to another spot?

And, where to buy the connectors in case it doesn’t fit my existing connector in my door as you alluded to above?

Thanks and when I get to doing the install, I will do my best to document everything so someone else can repeat it!

I notice that the gray wiring u got has 2 terminals crimped on the end. This might fit into the OEM mirror connector in the dash. If u have time, pop the panel off & look at the white connector going into the mirror switch. See if those terminals match the opening in the connector. If they don't u will need to make a stop at ur dealer & order 2 terminal repair wires.

I do know how to de-pin the connectors but to be honest it would just be easier to swap the folding motor. As for the turn signal harness.....there is no connector like this in the US. This connector is specific to Japan.

What year Prii will these be going into?

    I have a 2013 Prius.

I'm going to dig and try to download the Toyota manuals from their tech site when I get time to see if I can do what others have done (the Prius V documented install) with my Prius. It will be similar but not the same I expect.

As for the connectors, when I get the original pulled, I'll figure out what I will do next. I might end up getting replacement connectors or ???

I really want to buy this for my Gen2 but most likely it won't fit, but they do sell these without the mirror covers. Would it possible to maybe just buy these and cut my mirror covers to fit these?

Happy to see this thread still active!

I have a 2012 PiP and interested in the side mirrors w/courtesy lights; folding a nice to have though not necessary.

So many posts I am hoping someone familiar with the thread could provide current summary links for the following:

    - where can this be ordered?
    - have there been updated titorials?
    - photos/video after installed
