See link for pictures of the Bolt. Looks Leaf sized to me. 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Production Car Spied Before 2016 CES Reveal
Spy pix of the production Bolt which will be formally unveiled at CES in Las Vegas around the first week of January 2016. 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Production Car Spied Before 2016 CES Reveal
Yikes, are those pictures of a four seater? I don't think that format has sold in huge volumes of late. Many folks feel uncomfortable with a small car's association of crashworthiness. Still, I wish them well & hope it stirs competition. .
The orange-copper colored car is the concept show car with a futuristic interior. No interior shots of the production car have surfaced. AFAIK, it's suppose to be a 5 seater. Also, it's suppose to be a skateboard battery layout and not the t-shape.
2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Production Car Spied Before 2016 CES Reveal Hmm, not too bad overall, though at first glance it does vaguely resemble a Honda Fit. Will be interesting to see how Nissan and BMW plan to respond to the 200+ mile range the Bolt is expected to have, especially since it's in about the same price range as those two.
The concept car was 4 seats but GM folks said on the record that the production version would likely be 5 seats (2 front, 3 rear) like the Chevrolet Trax that it is loosely based on. The 2015 Trax got a 5-star safety rating overall and 5-star on the sub-tests except 4-star on rollover and with the heavy battery in the floor I expect the rollover risk will be 5-star for the Bolt. Like the Model S (and 5-star Volt), the Bolt will be near 4,000 pounds with a large battery and so will have a physics advantage against other cars its size and even larger due to the relative weight during a two car collision. 2015 Chevrolet Trax SUV FWD | Safercar -- NHTSA
Good deal - and like the Tesla, it will hopefully have a larger crumple zone without the ice being in front of a driver and passenger. .
i see that - from its rear design. But from the front it reminded me of the i3. Nissan's Leaf is supposed to do 200 miles on rev II. End of next year iirc? .
will this be as big as the prius inside?if it's too small, i wonder if people will care about 200 miles?
Agreed, it looks like my Honda Fit (loved that car) and some newer Nissan/Infiniti designs of late. I loved the show car design; this one not so much. Still I'm glad they're making it.
I doubt it, the area behind the rear seat looks smaller. However, overall storage (but not big load utility) may be similar if the skateboard design allows a front trunk. Hopefully the details come out in January.
Another reminder of the names given to the Prius in the day. Embrace the possibilities, judge with history.
