I was incorrect in saying that we pulled power from the headlights. We used kwhubby's method here.
Custom Prius C Foglights (pictures, and instructions)

Anyhow, the switch has been changed out for an OEM Toyota switch, and we're good now. The switch only lights up when it's turned on. The previous switch had an on indicator light and a constant light. This switch does not have a constant light.

It looks like the foglight icon on the switch has backlight illumination. All you have to do is wire it properly with a 12v source that's hot only when in Ready mode.

That's correct. That's how we wired it. It would light up and then shut off for a few and then light up for a few more and then shut off. It smelled like it was burning up. I think the problem was the switch itself.

New switch has no backlight for fog icon. The little amber dot lights when it's switched on.

They might run hot if used as DRLs during the day. You can use 35w H8 halogen bulbs instead, see the link in my signature below for a picture of what tab needs to be modified on the H8 bulb to make it fit the H11 bulb mount. The lower wattage H8 bulbs don't get as hot, and work well as DRLs.

I actually didn't go with the 55w because I got nervous after reading that they may melt the housing. I believe I have 19w (or whatever the equivalent to stock was). It's posted somewhere in this thread.

Do you remember which pins? We opened up and there is no grey. Several greenish-blue one with yellow dot and another with stripe.

I have read every post and I am still uncertain. Is the C1 prewired for fog lamps?

Well there are some other wire harness pieces missing btw Cotrol block and fog light harness. So to make it work you need a switch to ground G59#27 and a piece of wire from Left blue to OEM fog light harness. Not sure yet how to make OEM fog indicator work.It seems that the wiring from ECU/fuse block to bulbs is there, including fuse and relay, but the harness from ECU to switch is not, at least on later models. Not specifically C1, just in general.

Anybody knows if the fog lights for the prius c up 2014 fit on the 2015's? My 2015 has the newer front bumper and i was hoping the fog lights
have the same part number so all i wound need is to buy the newer cover bezels.

I was looking at adding fog lights to my '15 Prius C. I found a pair on Amazon by PCP. Everything looks legit from the pictures; I was wondering if anybody has any experience with this particular set. Toyota will install the parts for me, but I want to make sure I am not buying a bad piece. You can search it on Amazon. The forum will not let me post a link as this is my first post.

    Thank you for any help,

I just brought that set from Amazon. The bezel fits nice but the quality of the fog lights are very poor. Plastic feels cheap and the bulbs do not secure to the housing, very loose. I returned the fog lights after, cheapest quality I have ever seen. Just order it and if you don't like it return it. Gotta love Amazon for letting you return stuff.

Thank you for the response; I think I will pass. I don't want anything that is cheap feeling. It seems like even if they look acceptable; they will probably break pretty quickly. I don't want to take that chance.

Has anybody bought a fog light kit that they are happy with? I am looking for the '15.

To all of you that have installed foglights on your c's, may I suggest going to the next level?

Install a pair of true projector lights with cutoff shields (sharp cutoffs for glare reduction). They take 55w H11 bulbs, and some have installed HIDs in them as well:

Projector Fog lights (BOLT ON) finally! | PriusChat

Here is a pic I took that shows the mounting tabs are in the same locations as the Toyota oem foglights:

Just to be clear, Chiezy is selling just the projector foglights. You also have to have the foglight shrouds, wiring harness, and switch to mount them into your car.

I have a pair on my Camry, and they are great.

Nice. Do you have any pictures, wall shots, from about 25 feet? Or pictures of where the light is actually thrown? I'd like light thrown to the sides. Can these be angled out some? I saw they are vertically adjustable. I have my original headlight projectors after my retro fit, and thought about retrofitting them into the fog light housing. This might be a better way to go, a lot easier since the mountings are bolt on.

Bought a set of Toyota OEM's and both sides were destroyed with rocks. Bought the cheap kit off ebay and so far one has melted right in the middle with factory wattage bulbs installed. I'm in for the projector lenses, just need 4 posts to communicate with Chiezy. I'll post pictures of the three different lenses once I have them in hand. Might be of interest.

Mo G, there's some pictures in the thread I linked. And a few more in the link in the first post of the linked thread. They're more driving lights than foglights TBH, but they can be angled out some. I couldn't angle them out to the max angle because the lenses hit the shrouds.

Hmm, well it'll be better than the standard fog's I suppose. Wouldn't hurt in the rain either. I was debating between these and morimoto led fog's. But I think these will be more functional. Hmm.... Lighting upgrades are an addiction...

The only thing I don't care about the Morimoto LED foglights is there is no 2500-3000K color temp option, which provides the best contrast and visibility during bad weather conditions.
