There another dealership nearby on 880/237 (also very close to the airport) you can make fallback plan. This 18.5K$ makes me envy!:)

Any update Frank168? I'm looking to make the deal next week, waiting to see if they have any black friday additional incentives. Doubt it but might as well wait one more week to see! I have my financing and shipper ready, getting excited!

I put down a $500 credit card deposit to hold a newly arrived 2015 Blizzard Pearl Prius Twoand am shopping for one way airfare. Poor timing on my part because airfares have gone up from $97 to $250 because of Thanksgiving (doh!). I asked if I could pick up the car after Thanksgiving as I'm in no hurry but I was told there is a risk Toyota may alter or eliminate the current California $3000 rebate which ends November 30. Anyway, plan is to go get the car in the next couple of days. I'm getting the advertised price and have double checked that WA state will credit the sales tax paid (essentially identical rates). The only surprise is $368 in California DMV fees, part of which is a trip permit to get home. I griped about this until I learned the car comes with the all weather floor and cargo mats plus some kind of wheel locks so that is close enough for me. I did learn the state takes their sales tax money using the higher price before the rebate is applied. Good luck with your purchase efforts. Capitol Toyota did update their advertising for Thanksgiving and it still shows new 2015 Prius II's for $18,495 (plus TTL). I'll update here on how things go next week.

Prius TwoBlizzard Pearl with all weather floor and cargo mats. Alloy wheel locks.
    Miles: 2
    MSRP: $25,695.00
    Capitol Toyota: $21,495.00
    $368.75 DMV
    $1887.81 Tax
    Gross Price: $23,751.56
    Toyota Rebate: $3,000-
    Total Out the door: $20,751.56

One thing you may want to look into, like myself, is having it shipped. I know the road trip may be fun but the airfare at $250 and the $368 DMV fees would be already be more than what I'm paying to have it shipped here to CO($540) Also if your tax is any little bit lower than San Jose's 8.75 you will save money there too.(being that the car would be shipped you will pay tax in your state,at least thats what CO does anyways)Just an idea to think about and you could do payment over the phone I'm sure. Just an idea ar least! If interested I used Autos on the go shipping service.

That's an excellent idea I hadn't even considered. A cursory look online indicates I can have the car shipped from San Jose to Tacoma for $600 while avoiding California's plethora of DMV fees. I am looking forward to the solitude of a long scenic drive and want to thoroughly look over the vehicle before signing the check, but I'm going to seriously consider this option. Thank you.

I too would enjoy the drive so I don't blame you there! If my wife wasn't super pregnant I would consider it too. Definitely agree on the walk around aspect too. Never done anything like this and scared there's going to be a huge scratch or dent in it when it arrives!

"Never done anything like this and scared there's going to be a huge scratch or dent in it when it arrives!" Then it is the carrier's problem. Cars get shipped all the time. That is how they all get to the new car lots.

The due diligence should be in asking how the carrier is going to deliver the car. Are they using an enclosed trailer, a flat bed, or going cheap by finding someone to tow in behind an RV?

I shipped a used car and there was a light busted...they covered. I'd give it a real good clay bar wash and wax, but that's for any new car to get the shipping particles off.

It's a large semi type, similar to the ones that new cars come to from factories. I know that's how they come to the lots, still nonetheless it's a another chance of something happening that I cant control. I'm still going to go ahead, just hoping for best. It's the first brand new car we've ever bought.(2nd prius though) VERY excited!

Great idea, especially coming into winter with salt and sand on the road too.

Well talk about bait and switch on my end.... Pretty outraged at Capitol Toyota. Emailed my salesman yesterday to send paperwork so I can take to my bank. (keep in mind this is after I already got my shipping quote and loan pre-approved and talking to him for the past two weeks) Didn't hear back all day, then called today to contact him, finally got in touch after two calls. Wanted me to email my bank specifics so he could get purchase order going. So I did, within 10 min. Since then they have removed the deal off their website. Didn't hear back for a couple hours. Then received an email saying the deal was no longer going on and he couldn't do anything.they were out of Prius's. The website shows they have close to 200 different Prius's!. Then he calls me and says they can honor the deal if I come in person. He knows I live in Colorado and wanted to ship it. (knowing I wouldn't want to fly because knowing my wife just gave birth yesterday to our daughter!). This is really unbelievable and a fair warning to frank168 to have a backup plan if you are flying! . VovCA totally called it out! I am now working with Fremont Toyota to see if they can match it.
