I was responding to beeri-he mentioned that he didn't know you didn't need to use the key to open the door, you could just keep it in your pocket and the door unlocks when you reach behind the handle. I would assume this means he has SKS or do all Priuses no matter the package unlock if you have the fob nearby and reach for the handle??

A little bit of double-stick tape ought to solve that problem.

The cup holder farther from the dash nicely fits a tin of Altoids mints. You have to put the tin in at an angle (it won't fit flat). The holder then closes normally.

As you can see at the left, Jennifer, I don't need to keep a hairbrush handy...but I do keep a spare baseball cap and a rolled-up Tyvek jacket in the small compartment in the cargo area.

One thing with the sunglasses holder. I opened it and forgot to close it.. I then reached forward for something on the passenger floor. OUCH.. I opened a gash on the top of my head that bled & bled. That little portion that clips it closed hurts (And yes, I have no 'cushioning' left on the top of my head, other than a bit of fuzzy hair).

Anyone know a good lawyer?? :D

Yes, I keep my cell phone charger in that drawer, and I love cramming things in the upper glove box, yet suprisingly I only have my owner's manual in the lower glove box (and my manual came with a leather zipper case with a shiny red toyota logo on it, sorry SE toyota folks!)

Did you all know that there is a hole for the tonneau cover bar in the cargo compartment?

Open the Cargo compartment, and you will notice a notch out of the bin on the left and a notch out on the right- and walah- it fits in.

You all did know there was an extra bin on the left under the cargo cover?

There are 6 places to store cups.... one in each door, 2 in the console, and as one person alread mentioned, the back of the console flips down for 2 more cup holders (great for that extra bottle of water).

Also do not put anything over the right rear seat near the door- that is the fan for the battery.

We go over that for new owners at the Orange County Prius Club...

Poor guys worked so hard too. Well, at least they can go on vacation now.

You put your right foot in
You put your right foot out
You put your right foot in and you shake it all about
You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around
    That's what it's all about :)

That drawer is the perfect spot for all my "prius-hacking" tools --
clip leads, various chisel-tip bits of wire for removing connector
pins, voltmeter, small tools. Oh, and usually the GPS gets tossed
in there when it's not in the cradle.
    .
Challenge: get the drawer completely *out*.

I have the microphone to my ham radio routed to the drawer... out of sight until I need it.

One winter at work, we held a "draw the sun from memory" contest; no one could remember what color it was, although the general consesis was that it was round. B)

Wow... I didn't know about the tonneau slot! I'm going to have to check that out!

Man, I am learning SO MUCH about a car I've owned for over a year!

I must say that all of the storage areas in the Prius are one of the many things I love about the car. But I was surprised that the drawer beneath the cup holders is not lined like the other storage spots. Or perhaps it was supposed to be and my dealer forgot to put in the liner??

Just FYI, my new 06 doesn't have a liner there either.

I have also noticed that this drawer sticks quite a bit when trying to open it.

I've been opening & closing it about 10 times a day, hoping this will get easier, but it doesn't seem to.

    Miss Taz,

I thought my drawer was sticking too until I realized that you have to lift up first, then pull out. Doing that the drawer comes out easily. I assume the clever Toyota engineers did this so the drawer wouldn't open all by itself if you had to make a sudden stop...

Such a well thought out machine!! :)

My 2005 didn't come with a liner either. I went to a hardware store and got a sheet of rubber that's used to line tool boxes. Easy to make a piece to fit and it keeps items from sliding around. :) Plenty of material left over to make some for the door pockets as well. I see them also for sale to line kitchen drawers. It's thinner material, but comes in colors other than black. :p

Check at woodworker stores for felt liner. It commonly comes in green and black. Sticky on one side like contact paper. Great for lining things like that front drawer. I've used it in my last several cars to line the front ashtray for use as a coin holder.

If black or green don't do it for you, there's always these guys:
