<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Danny @ May 5 2006, 04:43 AM) </div> I rarely read "How To Operate Your New Toy" documentation so I was unaware that PriusChat had rules that spelled suspension. Given the foul language and intensity of "flame-o-gram" I've seen herein pass without restriction, it's hard to imagine WHAT infraction could result in suspension. Without violating Squid's privacy, Danny, could you review what kinds of offenses can get you thrown out? Or where in the PriusChat documentation they can be found, so we don't unintentionally run afoul the rules of the electronic road? Mark Baird Alameda CA
On April 28 someone successfully hacked PC by sending me a PM under the name of another member. The PM said, "I'm gay". When I checked with that member to see if he had really sent it, he said "no", and I believe him. The "I'm gay" was not typed in the standard PriusChat font, but was oversize and had been lifted from a source outside PC, which I was able to trace. The PM itself had accurate member info for that member on the left-hand side, and by clicking to the member's name at the top, you reached his actual profile page. Just thought I'd mention that here, since I don't think it's worth posting it as its own thread. At the time I did not report it to a mod. Consider this as an alert, that if you receive a hacked message, you're not the first.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(airportkid @ May 5 2006, 02:23 PM) </div> As you've discerned, the threshold is pretty high. But personal attacks particularly those involving foul language are high on the list. Other repeated violations of the forum rules despite warnings to abate are likewise taken seriously. I think only one or two ISPs have been permanantly banned and those were flamers/trolls who knew they'd be banned. One or two have gotten warnings, and a couple of other temporary suspensions have occured. This speaks as much, IMO, to the excellent behavior of the board as it does to the laxity/freedom we allow members to have.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ghostofjk @ May 5 2006, 04:08 PM) </div> It was not a hacked message. I repeat, PriusChat has NOT been hacked. Please don't say "someone successfully hacked PC" without speaking to someone on the staff about it first - there are privacy issues to deal with and I'll probably end up getting a dozen emails because of your post.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ghostofjk @ May 5 2006, 03:39 PM) </div> I know the question wasn't directed toward me but someone could have logged onto his computer when he wasn't looking. Or hacked his account... just because 1 account on PC has been hacked does not mean PC itself has been hacked. It could be due to a using weak password.
I went through the database and found the message you're referring to. #1 - the message was not sent by MS or by MS posing under someone's account. I even checked the IPs #2 - the message was in response to a question you posed on the forum. The individual who sent the message to you is more of a registered lurker and only posts when questions are directed to him #3 - the intent behind the message was sent to you in a follow-up PM by that individual.
Wow! There's alot of stuff that goes on in this here computer. Thanks to Danny and Doc for keeping an eye on things. It does get pretty intense sometimes.
