In a hurry to finish my oil change I emptied the oil containers into the funnel as quickly as they would drain. The oh-shit moment occurred after the third quart… when I heard gentle splashing underneath. Yup, I filled the valve train compartment so quickly that it overflowed leaving 1/2 quart on the floor (the first time in 25 years of oil changes). The combination of a low volume valve cover, quick pour big mouth oil containers (Amsoil 5w30), thin oil, and slow head drain rate. The clever man can solve problems, the wise man learns to avoid them . Brian
I hope you didn't have any oil enter the PCV system and end up in your intake manifold. That appears to be a problem with this motor if you add fresh oil too quickly.
