Not sure that they have officially published it, but it is the same 9.7 as the 3G Prius.

    But 0-30 is greatly improved.

No weight reduction + a net 13hp loss + "(0-60) same 9.7 as the 3G Prius" + "0-30 is greatly improved" = 30-60 much worse than the 3G Prius? Torque hits early, but engine wheezes out? Does that mean that 60-onwards might be worse as well?

The HP loss is not what it appears. They are calculating horsepower differently than they did with the 3G Prius. It's explained in this video:

I'll also try to explain it in my written review later in the week.

Now to find the new Japanese HP rating. Also, I like the idea of replacing the valve springs to improve engine efficiency . . . that would work on our ZVW30.

This new calculation method also means that the max battery power is more than just 26 kW (121-95), probably similar to Gen 3 (or more?) indicated by the improved 0-30.
30-60 portion of the 0-60 test is slower, however, overtaking 30-60 may be quicker as the battery can give its max power in this situation (i.e. it is not exhausted).
Also, I assume this 'net system power' will be much closer to max power result from a dyno test.

Under max acceleration regardless of speed ICE is the main generator of power, with previous version it was rpm restricted (PSD MG1 restriction) and it produced less torque under low rpm.

Remember power = torque * rpm

I will try to make this in numbers, just as an example (not real numbers)
    Gen3 @20 mph:
    - max iCE Speed 3.500 rpm, max torque 120 Nm = 44 kW

    Gen4@20 mph:
    - max ICE spee 4.000 rpm, max torque 142 Nm = 59 kW

There is also electric motor power@speed rating, that could make a change, but battery power IMHO is just the same or even lower then previous version.

Again this is just wild guess what is going on under a skin, don't take my numbers as real.

Not true for max acceleration at very low speeds where battery is the main generator of power.

Still miss what models will have Li-ion battery?
OOPS found it, NiMH on model 2, Li-Ion for all the rest.

Not true, as I pointed in my previous post, even under low speed ICE can work in the region 40-50 kW, that is way more than power from the battery, use torque app and OBD if you don't believe me.

I see your point, but even at 0 MPH you can force charge battery in D with brakes on, what happens when you release the brake? ICE rpm goes up and power that was charging the battery goes to the wheels, battery assists, but as soon ICE rpm reaches 2.000 rpm it delivers more power than battery, at what speed the car is by then is hard to say, but if certain load would brake the car (trailer, big incline) we would see this more slowly.

Danny reported improved acceleration 0-30, this must come from improved MG2 torque at these speeds (where else can it come from?) which is achieved, in my opinion, by higher currents from the battery (higher battery delivery power).
Size of battery dictates that this high power is available only for a short time period, on the other hand higher regeneration power means capacity is replenished rather quickly (ready for the next load mission).

As expected, the packages are crap. If I want advanced collision avoidance technology or *gasp* a garage door opener, I have to get fake leather seats. Or I could buy a higher end package and then pay to have the fake leather seats removed.

    And no E-Four.

I'll go test drive one in hopes they pull their collective heads out sometime later, but I'll be keeping my 2004.

I wasn't expecting that change from the current specs of: 42.5/36.0

The extra room in front is obviously a welcome improvement for the long-legged. For the shorter, that front extra can simply be used in the rear. So, it's really like 42.5/34.1 in. But overall, it did shrink.
