What is that?

    It's just right behind the steering wheel or on the left of the park button,looks like a vent of some sort or may be it has to do with the remote. IMG_0047.jpg

    My guess would be slots to accommodate a glass breakage sensor microphone (dealer accessory) installed behind that panel.

    ...I think you're right ...it's the microphone for the Bluetooth when calling via your cell phone.

    The microphone is high up, in the headliner somewhere, around where the map lighting is. This, in my opinion, is too low to be a microphone. See my previous post as to what it is.

    In our (regular) Prius the phone microphone is up in the roof, between the two map lights.

    It is slots for the Room or Cabin temperature sensor, as stated above.

    Behind those slots is the temperature sensor for the HVAC as others have stated. PN: 8862547021
