so i just got off the phone with the dmv, and i got a nice lady who will be sending me the hov stickers in about a week. she was nice so we were joking around a bit and i was like '4 stickers?!, it's gonna make the car ugly!' to which she said 'you said you have the toyota prius right?, well then it's already ugly!' all in good humor. i had a good laugh with her about it and i thought i would share it here. a pretty good dmv experience i must say.
Old News I was excited - on Feb 24. I have had the stickers on since March 6. Yes, they are ugly, but I save 30 minutes a day on the LIE and get a much smoother ride. Can't wait to get a second Prius, but my Tercel just won't die.
Yeah...there is a guy on the boards that already got his and he says they aren't bad looking. I drive the LIE everyday. I just hate putting stickers on my cars.
I live on Long Island too, but I hate stickers and I never use the LIE during rush hour. Maybe I can figure a way to put them on magnetically if I ever have to venture on the LIE during those times.

got my stickers and put them on. i don't even really use the LIE that often, but i put them on for fun!
looks nice on black, i'm going to put mine on soon. my gf didn't like the prius look from the beginning and now she's complaining that stickers will make the car look ugly. i said "didn't you think the car looked ugly from the start?
Is this the only stretch of highway they are offering it on? I mean what about all the other places there are HOV lanes in New York? Does anyone have any info on when they might start offering it on onther stretches? Thanks,
Well what I meant about other HOV locations is for example where in the mornings leaving Brooklyn going onto the BQE. For those that have more then 3 ppl in the car there is a special that saves about 10 minutes in the morning. There are other similar places where carpools have a quicker option. My question was wether in all these cases is there goingt o be access for hybrids.
Hey another Brooklyn Prius!! I used to live in Brooklyn, and my parents still live in Brooklyn. Where in Brooklyn do you live? Back to the topic, according to their website, the Clean Pass Program only applies to the LIE HOV lane. I don't know if they are going to extend this to other HOV lanes.
