Wore myself out this afternoon and evening chasing interference after interference. A quarter inch here, an eighth inch there. Every time the body would drop a little lower. It is closer, but not quite there. The biggest issue has been inside the rear wheel wells, where curved surfaces and surfaces at odd angles intersect. I figure that I have an hour or two more of adjustments to make, which probably means three or four. Next chance will be this weekend if the weather holds.

The good news is that the firewall is in it's final position and looks good.

The fit around the Prius v A/C unit is exactly as planned.

The location of the A/C relative to the dash panel is now clear too.

Tomorrow will be a recuperation day for sore muscles. Then I dive in again this weekend.

Those pictures of the firewall area are really really impressive. The advance planning and methodical approach you are taking to this project shows in the way that is coming together.

Your dedication is incredible! I've enjoyed seeing the progress and can't wait to see how you integrate the instrument cluster into the dash.

Grrrr. I have trimmed and adjusted everything I can see either from the outside of the car or from inside the passenger area. It is still hung-up on something I can't see that way. Next chance I get, back up in the air it goes so I can see what is wrong in-between.

    Hi Bill,

To me, it looks like if it went down lower on the rear portion, it would look like its sagging.

The critical part is to have the Firebird rocker panels resting on the Prius v rocker panels for their full length. That is what gives it the structural rigidity it needs once it is welded together.

Hoping to make progress on Sunday.

Task completed. The body is in position on the chassis.

The body is sitting exactly where I had planned. I put that location mark on the Prius v chassis months ago.

Got it done just in time too. The forecast for next weekend has that "S" word in it for the first time this season. Tomorrow night I will be cleaning up the garage so that my wife can get her parking space back.

That's it for this year. Now to patiently wait for Spring to return!

Florida? With my luck my company will send me on a business trip to the home office in Winnipeg... in January!

The body was resting on some internal ribs inside the rocker panels back by the rear wheels. I went through more saw blades cutting them back. They were 1/8" thick and there were two on both sides.

In four years when my wife and I retire to the coast of Delaware, I may just take you up on that! My wife wants my next project to be an all-electric Z3 or Miata for her to tool around in. ;)

My wife says that's fine as long as you follow the dress code. No muddy shoes in her car!
