Hi Its me again. Well I got some info on the May 13,2006 outing to the route 66 speedway. Okay all that would like to come. Lets meet up at 409 north Chicago street Elwood IL 60421. This is the Elwood school parking lot, about 3 miles from the race track. We will meet up at 7am and leave there @ 7:45 am parade to the route 66 speedway. I got a e-mail from one Ted from the AFV EXPO witch is one of the people that are sponsoring this outing. this is what he had to say. Anyone participating in the Expo with a hybrid (or other AFV) will get in free including everyone in their vehicle. You can also race against the clock (or a friendly gentleman's match perhaps) on the Drag Strip before or after the NEDRA electric racing competition. i plan to race my electric truck if only for a photo op and a novel experience On Expo day, try to arrive by 8 or so. The gates are open to the public at 9. Enter the venue from Rt 53 entrance #11 and get into the "AFV entrance" from there. Okay as you see we need to be there by 8am. thats the reason for the early am meet up. Also they would like for us to hold a Q & A. for the Prius and Priuschat.com Any volunteer. Please let me know. If you have any questions please e-mail me thanks Bob. and also maybe we can start a head count on the number of cars that may attend.

Here's an e-mail from the FVEAA Group: Dear Participants, The gates will be open to AFV participants from 8AM to 10:30AM. The gates open to the public at 11AM, so please allow enough time to stage your vehicle(s) for display before then. Route 66 Raceway is on Route 53, 3 miles south of I-80 in Joliet, IL. Driving directions and map are here: http://www.chicagolandspeedway.com/cgi-bin...directions.html Enter at Gate 11 off of Rt. 53 (south of Schweitzer Rd). AFV Expo CANCELLED! Regrettably, the Midwest AFV Expo has been cancelled due to bad weather! Nothing will be going on at the Route 66 Raceway tomorrow. Please help spread the word! More information following soon.
But I studied the HV Battery and HSD more just to answer all the questions from the EV crowd!! What will I do with all that swimming around in my head? Wayne
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FireEngineer @ May 12 2006, 06:43 PM) </div> Hey, that'll just mean that you'll be extra prepared for Hybridfest. I'm sure there will be some EV'ers there, plus you could always go and talk with the tech heads from JCI or the UW Hybrid team. Seriously though, it's too bad the weather messed up the get-together plans. You guys had the same unseasonal weather we had. I actually saw snow here in Madison on Friday. Snow in May! Geesh!
