Many people name their cars. I have always named mine; and my wife has also. Her first car was Nellie Belle, named after Roy Rogers' jeep (remember him?). A car I had in college was named Boomer, after Boomer-Sooner in the Okla. Univ. fight song. My Prius is named "Precious" as in "Precious Prius Wilson"; my wife's current car, a silvery metallic Lincoln Town Car, is named "Moonlight". What is your car's name? Jon
"Blue Belle" named after our cat Silver Belle. She had to be euthanized a week after I got the Prius. That's her picture as my avatar.
"Poindexter"....because my car just looks like a Poindexter..... a little nerdy, but smart, and pretty cool once you get to know him. Dex or Dexter for short.
:lol: ERNESTINE - after Lili Tomlin's telephone operator character. Verbal commands in the NAV system sometimes result in totally innane responses totally unrelated to my request. For example, I might say "GO HOME" and Ernestine responds with "SHOWING POST OFFICE ICONS" or something just as strange. OTOH, more than half the time she responds correctly: "SETTING HOME AS DESTINATION" Rather than being irritated, I view her responses as entertainment.
Promithius of course, in reality it is prometheus - the immortal Greek god who gave fire, via lightning - thus electricity, and other comforts to us mortals. Some how prometheus doesn't have the correct letters to spell prius, so I'm sure the orignal translation is wrong!

I call her InfraRED because thats the only thing I could come up with at the time. Plus its my favorite color.
Started out calling it QuickSilver, but that didn't really have any personality. So the car is simply called "Pri" now, which really fits. She's our "pri"mary choice for transportation now. Fred (Ford-red) sits patiently waiting for weekend chores and the Honda, well we're thinking of taking out a personals ad for it: "Lonely Odyssey seeks Iliad"

My Prius is named Mooberry because my wife thought the color was "berry"-like, and I like cows. Our Prius moos a lot. :lol:
Tochatihu is the Hopi hummingbird kachina (Tocha, actually, but that would be splitting hairs). Hummingbirds do amazing things with small quantities of fuel...
I call mine The Bug Catcher. She's white and the bugs show clearly on her. After I get off the highway, the front bumper looks like an entomologist's nightmare.
Thought we'd be unique so we call her "Prius" when she's good ( which is most of the time) and when she's bad we call her "Ford".
