is $1000 too much for complete replacement of front bumper cover, grills and driver side mirror on a 2013? Labor inclusive and painted
i think it's not bad, new oem mirror costs around $250 if not more, I think I paid $360 with installation. Bumper replacement also usually costs more than $500. For peace in mind make a couple more of estimates. Also make sure the shop does good job for painting. Good luck! PS: check other sub forums, it is a common case.
For my area that would be a deal assuming its OEM quality work, especially if this is an accident repair.
If it is known as a good repair shop the price is not bad for good work. I went the cheap body shop route and did I regret it, a total waste of money.
Make sure they intend to "blend in" paint the adjacent panels, ie: hood and fenders. If they aren't, then Munpot42 is very likely right. This was never an issue with real bumpers, btw.
You probably can find one OEM painted to your car's color, for a fraction of the cost. Just post a wanted Ad. Many people swap those out for upgraded JDM bumpers.
Funny, when chassis style "bumpers" first came into vogue, mid-eighties, they were mostly dark grey or black, in contrast with body colors.
Nope, I had minimal work done on my front bumper. $900. So $1000 IMO is not out of line. However, as illustrated, the value really hinges on the quality of the parts and the quality of the work. Nothing at any price, is a good deal if the parts are substandard and the workmanship sub-par.
If they are just painting the bumper -- they will not need to blend the panels. The bumpers are painted separately .. same with the mirrors.
The body shop replaced just the front bumper including painting for $799. I don't see $1000 being too unreasonable.
If you don't want to see abrupt transition, you DO need to blend in adjacent panels. Different paint batches, clearcoat texture, aging/fading: the only way to avoid an obvious transition is to blend.
Surprisingly, the body shop I took my car to painted the bumper then mounted it without blending any adjacent panels. It looked perfect...and I've looked at the bumper at many different lighting.
I've had 3 bumpers replaced on 2011, all charges were between $900-$1000 each. I hit some raccoons twice, and a road medium once. Insurance paid bills each time.
