Does anyone has the disassembly instruction of the charge port? Just bought a used PIP with a damaged charge port. After removing the 4 hex nuts I can pull the port out slightly to see thE back of it, but I'm not sure if the port can be disconnected and replaced from outside. Do I need to access from inside? Does anyone has the service manual pages or experience to share? Thanks in advance!
TampaPrius has a post called Naked Prius, he has a picture, looks like it is acessable from inside. Hope it helps, good luck.
congrats on the new wheels. you can access the service manual on line for $15./day if necessary. all the best!
Considering what it's connecting to, I'd resist the urge to jump in, definetly wait till you get that Repair Manual instruction.
I found that post earlier. I am not sure want what part and how to strip from inside to get to the port from inside and don't want to risk breaking something. When I pull out the port, I can see the black rubber tube covering the connector to the charge port. The part diagram shows the charge port as a separate part. I am not sure how to disconnect it though.
Which one is the water drain line? I only see a big black rubber tube covering the back of connector. Is there water tube inside?
I got the car yesterday from used dealer not realizing the charge port was damaged. They have a few PIPs on lot, I think I can convince them to swap the ports, but probably only if I can do from outside. That would be the easy solution, hence trying to see if it is doable.
The charge port is easily serviced after removing the right rear interior plastic panels. It can not be serviced from outside the vehicle.
All good now. Just back from dealer and they swapped the charge port from another PIP. Did it from outside, but really tricky to get the pins line up for the reinstall. Feel much better now. Thanks for all the replies!
A replacement charge port is available as an spare part, It may came with the wiring harness included
