Car is sitting it's deer hunting season so my husband is missing until tomorrow. I'll update as soon as he changes the spark plugs. If we should be looking at something else besides the spark plugs I'm all ears. ~Estela SM-G900T ?
Estela13, does that car consume noticeably more engine oil than it did earlier? Keep us posted. Thanks!
Just finished changing the spark plugs one and a half hours later I think that solved the problem SM-G900T ?
Yes topping off every week One of the plugs had black junk on our assuming oil? Car is running good off to work SM-G900T ?
Code came back the amount of miles and constant oil consumption I believe I am just going to replace engine I found one with low mileage with tranny under 2K I was hoping to go to 300K on this engine I don't have patience to keep guessing what it could be, this will bring me piece of mind
I believe 1 liter per 1000miles is acceptable, why not investigate a bit deeper, maybe it is only gum inside intake manifold...
It was using more than one liter It was also leaking from the seal on the left hand side towards the back of the engine I just dropped her off earlier today in the hands of hybrid 411 in Westminster I should be having her back by tomorrow She was making a knocking sound even when I was standing still without moving the car and I just didn't want to risk it being left stranded in the middle of the night ~Estela SM-G900T ?
Will do they already started will be ready Friday morning. It's hybrid 911 in Westminster, it's about 1hr from me, there was nothing but prius being worked on taxi's and uber cars, I'm in good hands SM-G900T ?
In fact, there is a leak, as you mentioned. Does the garage staff think the oil consumption comes from this?
Thank you for the information. Maybe you'll swap engine, and then if they open probably will find sticky piston rings How sad.
Joined the club yesterday. Bought it with 17 miles. So far the only non-maintenance repairs it has ever needed have been the two rear license plate lights. Lifetime average is about 43 mpg. Here's to another 200,000 miles!
My first post.! I’ve got a 2013 V with 225,000+ miles. Just found out today from my mechanic the hybrid battery needs replacing. Any worthwhile deals out there?
New Toyota cells for the price of either of the two new aftermarket options. Shop. The cylindrical new aftermarket cells fail in a few years. The lithium guys are still trying to get the nimh emulation to reliably and safely work longterm but don't share the problems in realtime. Some of the advocates of these on Priuschat work for or own the companies. Used won't last a year regardless of claims of refurb (not chemically possible and basically a strategy for scam flippers). Don't be seduced by their "guarantees" which sometimes disappear after the third failure in the first year.
