4-6 weeks is turning out to be a little less than 4. As non-stoked as I am for having a new car payment, our cars have a combined 300,000 miles on them so it really is time. I'm paying MSRP from Bob Bridge. We're going on a trip to Wyoming Memorial Day weekend. With the kinds of speeds that people in Montana drive, it'll take me forever to get my MPG to something good
Awesome! And now PAS can have its way with you while you wait (Prius Anticipation Syndrome). And I love your screenname! That's one of my favorite street names...off the 15 en route to Vegas.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rancid13 @ May 2 2006, 03:03 PM) </div> PAS is killing me!
So what do you guys think, mostly freeway commute, 20-25 minutes largely at 60 mph, some hills but not too many, what should I expect? This will be on the test
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ May 2 2006, 02:35 PM) </div> Without getting too exact (as I don't live in your area or drive a similar route), but I would say mid 40's. Maybe better as you perfect your Prius driving skills and learn to maximize mpgs. Perhaps others in your area or with similar routes will have better answers...
Mid 40's is really all I'm asking for. I get about 30 with my Saturn; a 50% reduction in gas use is a good thing. At least I don't have to unlearn leadfoot habits since I don't really speed as is.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ May 2 2006, 03:10 PM) </div> Let me just say that the absolute worst mileage I've managed to achieve thus far was during a ~30-mile uphill (~10 miles of 6% grade) stretch heading to the mountains...it got my battery down to 2, then 1 purple bar. I got a whopping 34.3 mpg readout once I got to the top. Not bad considering I was driving 60-70mph the entire uphill!! I don't even want to know what mpgs were when driving that same route in my old Saturn...otherwise in normal day-to-day driving I'm a bit of a lead foot and most of the time am driving above the speed limit, and am at 51mpg on my current tank. Here's the link to my Greenhybrid page...it's the 4th tank down from the top: http://www.greenhybrid.com/compare/mileage/car/2107.html
Congrats in advance of your getting that beautiful Prius! I've had mine for 13 days now and I'm still grinning - just passed the 300 mile mark this morning, getting about 44 mpg on short trips - 5 miles each way to work/home.
I've been waiting almost 6 months in the Seattle area (package 1)... hope you get yours when you think you will!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ May 2 2006, 03:10 PM) </div> In our climate, with short trips, I'm getting about 43 right now. When I head out on the highway it's about 50.
