One of my two keys was stolen and I need to get a new key and disable the stolen key. I'm in the Los Angeles area also. What do you recommend? Thanks.
HELP!! I installed the programs and worked my way through the software, but chickened out when it came to the Code Registration part. So, I thought I'd get confirmation here before I proceed. Here's what I did: Started Techstream 9.0. Clicked on Connect to Vehicle tab on the left. The Vehicle Connection Wizard menu comes up, and I enter the info for my Prius. The Select System tab comes up. Clicked on Smart Key. Clicked on the Utility tab on the left. The Utility Selection menu comes up. Here's where I chicken out. There are 2 selections that look applicable: "Smart Code Registration (Classic)" and "Smart Code Registration". Which one do I select? What do I do after that? The menus start talking like I'm deleting stuff and that scared me. HELP!! Thanks everybody. Once I get through this, I'll finish up the above sequence. Mike
There is some info here on the software and setup as well, different seller, but I think it is the same product. I haven't used it, though. (One post away from being able to post links - look up tundratalk and thread 109367-techstream-software-cable-35-a-7
You did everything just right. You don't need to delete anything, unless you lost keys. I haven't done that, myself. I only ADDED a key. All you have to do is go to add a key. With the car in the ON mode, it will ask you to place a working key with the Toyota emblem next to the sstart button. After you have done that, you place the emblem of the new key to the start button. Then, you go to the computer and click on the ACCEPT box, and you're done.
Rude person's, Thanks, as always. But I didn't see "Add a key." However, maybe that's what comes up next? I'll experiment more, knowing that I don't delete a key. FYI, what messed me up was a few years ago somebody told me that you have to remove all of the keys from the computer then reinstall them. Knowing I don't do that is very helpful. Thanks again Rude person's. Mike I'll have to look for that, too. Thanks. Mike
Bisco, you've got to elaborate, lol. Here's the first Google result for "ovni in la": (It goes downhill from there)
