Hello, I bought a new (still in wrap) Smart key with the same FCC id as my PIP's key off ebay it just lacks the AC start button. I am using the Mini VCI tech stream cable and V10.x software. Everything connects fine etc. I go through the key registration process and everything goes great, up until it has me place the new key on the passenger seat. That step never seems to complete and then it fails. I have removed all phones, cards with RFID magnets etc from the car. I had my wife take the Working key far from the car after that first step. I find that people have this problem, however I have yet to find a clear solution.
Why are you removing original key from car? If it beeps once and then doesnt give the second beep when you place on seat....four problems.. No battery in new key(check light) Wrong FCC(not your problem) Bad antenna in one of the doors(rare) Used key
I remember reading (right or wrong?) to make sure driver door remains open during techstream adding SKS fob, and I did so during my problem free adding of a new fob.
All toyota/lexus vehicles require the passenger door open when programming keys by using a plug in programmer.
