Prius c is 4.7" longer and rides on 1.6" longer wheelbase and is based on Verso-s as I have told you before.

It is not the same car as Yaris. It is Verso-s with lower roof... it also drives differently than Yaris.

I find this thread much more suited for comparing the two cars than the "Yaris hybrid reviews" thread. So keep up the good work guys. I expect to get a test drive in the Yaris hybrid at release.

Nice image of the Verso S/Ractis. It is correct that the Prius c is based on the Verso-S platform and is longer. I don't know how much a 1.6" longer wheel base changes the driving behavior of a car. It is possible, even likely, that the Prius c has other settings with respect to steering and suspension, in order to accomodate different road and driving conditions.

Unfortunately, where you and I live, it will not be possible to directly compare these nice cars, and also a US Japan made Yaris does not necessarily drive the same as the European made Yaris Hybbrid.

So yes, the cars share the HSD drive train, but may have some notable differences. I'd expect though, a Prius c drives differently then a Verso S, because it is much lower.

I think in the end, we agree.

I hope one day, Toyota will export the Prius c to Europe.

Here are a few pictures showing interesting aspects of the Yaris Hybrid, compared to the Prius c.

    1. The Yaris Hybrid specific dashboard

It comes standard with automatic dual zone A/C
Intruments are sitting in front of the driver. One likes it better or not!
The Toyota Touch Multimedia system with backup camera and cruise control are also available on some models or as options

    2. Under the hood, the ICE of the Yaris has a nice cover. It could improve noise reduction?

One can also see the single arm telescopic wiper on the Yaris and the more conventional wipers on the Prius c!

Prius c owners, that's how the HSD system's inner looks like!

you need to test drive both :).

I do like Toyota's decision in Europe, because it made Yaris Hybrid a lot cheaper as we know by now...

but Verso-s is higher end vehicle, despite Yaris HSD equipment being nice (another good decision by TME, excellent even!)... you need to drive the both (Verso-s and Yaris)

    A small correction:

The Yaris Hybrid does not come with Speed Limit Control although it is listed in the description of the model. The comfort package includes Cruise Control, but without Speed Limiter. According to Toyota it is "technically not possible for this model". I know because I own the car and asked Toyota after I could not find the according switch.

I know it's an old thread, just thought it's funny that someone would think something called a Ractis would sell in the US. No such car here. Cheers.

There is a Toyota called the Ractis, even if it isn't sold in the U.S. - Think Honda Fit (short, upright rear end).
