CBS News is doing a special about the high cost of gasoline. They are driving from South Florida to New England in three vehicles - a Ford Expedition, a Honda Accord and a Toyota Prius. They are doing interviews with people as they go, and giving information on how much fuel they consume. They just started today and went from Miami to Orlando. These numbers are not exact, the best I could catch them. They went 245 miles and gave the gasoline cost for the trip: Expedition $54, Accord $25 and Prius $15. Let's see how it goes as the days go buy. Maybe this will finally show people that the Prius can do well in the real world.
The EXACT fuel cost numbers were: Expedition: $54.81 Accord: $24.58 Prius: $15.25 The Exedition consumed an incredible 3.594 times the Prius consumption.
If all cars used regular (not sure about that) and gas cost $2.80 (just an assumption), then: the Prius got 45.0 mpg the Accord got 27.9 mpg the Expedition got 12.5 mpg That's hilarious; 12.5 mpg for 100% highway driving!
My understanding from watching the news is that yes they are traveling together. As for fuel price I would assume it was probably more than $2.80 if this were current as of today.

Well I don't think you say much after 245 miles. It will be interesting to see the results when the trip is over though.
