My DC/DC inverter failed in my 2007. Code P0A94. I obtained a used inverter and instead of going through the hastle of removing the entire housing, draining fluids, etc......I removed all the electrical internals and transplanted them into the old housing. Relatively easy repair. Back on the road
A novel approach. Any photos of the assemblies that had been transplanted? Also, did something in particular provoke the DC/DC converter failure?
That was the same approach Toyota took when dealing with the Highlander Hybrid inverter recall problem.
Everything was running perfectly, then all of a sudden red triangle with multiple other dashboard lights. No engine, only battery life, for about 1/2 mile and that was it. Dead. Disconnecting the battery/reset did not help me move an inch.
Hmm, it is not clear whether the events in post #5 occurred subsequent to the repair described in post #1.
Is this transplant as easy as it sounds? Is it just a plug and bolt job? Sounds almost too easy to be true?
