just bought my Prius today: hearing some sounds

    Hey newbie here! so I got a Prius c 2015 today and when I got the car home (about 13 miles) the gas motor was making a noise when the car was turned off. It lasted about 3 or 4 minutes. Is that normal? Also the brakes sound a little like a jet as I slow down. I think the brake noise is normal but the gas engine one is what concerned me. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. thx

    My 2008 Gen II Prius makes lots of noise after I turn it off and exit the car. It can go on for several minutes. Buzzing, clicking, humming. It's always done it.

    but this is literally after parking it after driving home from the dealer.. that is how new it is

    Get used to it. The car does what it needs to do. I think of it as part of the mystique of the Prius.

    Yeah never got a technical explanation but yeah it does a diagnostics after you turn off the "car" part and then the computer takes over....

    my 2015 C2 makes weird noises after I shut down, kinda like a humming, wheezing, hissing noise. I won't worry about it until I hear disembodied voices coming from it.

    Read the manual; specifically states the car makes all kinds of noises-when you first turn on the car, while driving, and after turning off the car.
