<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mike_m @ Apr 28 2006, 06:44 PM) </div> I got rid of my CTS to buy my Prius. In my opinion it is twice the car. I really mean that. What the CTS has over the Prius is seat comfort. You will be on this site asking everyone what they did to make there seat more comfortable. Go ahead and get the Prius. I'd say there IS not "typical" Prius owner. My "other" car is an Audi A8. Before that I had the M-B 320CLK but I dumped it because the M-B dealers treat customers like cr*p around here. Do the Teutonic monsters handle better then the Prius? Maybe. But I enjoy driving the Prius more. Weird, huh?

I know that the Bush Administration as pushed me farther left than I was in 2000. He is certainly NOT a uniter but I can tell you first hand, a divider. I know....this is for FHOP, so I'll stop now.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(cne0233 @ Apr 29 2006, 07:06 AM) </div> Huh. Sounds like a bible thumping homophoble staking out the moral high ground. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I cannot abide torture, corruption, hypocrisy, dishonesty, fascism, and head-up-the-nice person stupidity, to name a few. This must make me an amoral liberal.
I don't know what the Prius profile is. I traded a BMW X5 for the Prius and I'm a very conservative Christian with enough money to fuel a X5. I fell in love with the car the first time I test drove it. My spouse thought I lost my mind, but now he wants a Prius too. The car makes driving fun again. And it doesn't hurt that it helps the environment and is easy on gas fillups. The car has given me a bit of liberal earth consciousness that I honestly didn't have before and I'm very proud of it. After all, God gave us this planet and it is our duty to take care of it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(MyPria @ Apr 29 2006, 12:26 PM) </div> I wish more of the 'right wing' conservative Christians felt the same way you do. I'm an atheist and I could never understand how Christians can (not always) be so unforgiving when it comes to the Earth. WWJD (What Would Jesus Drive)? A Prius of course!!! (I know, this is going off topic) <_<
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JBJAG @ Apr 28 2006, 07:38 PM) </div> Well, I just went to Central Florida Toyota.........and rented one for a week. I drove it home, and I feel like I am driving a tank. I am used to sitting pretty low in my CTS. I was so anal looking at that damn consumption display. It's neat and sad at the same time to know that I averaged 44.7 MPG in the 7 miles I have driven it. So far, I really like it. If the love affair lasts the whole week that I drive it, then the CTS is gone.... Peace Out, MIKE
I have had my share of sports cars and SUVs as well. I love my Prius. I may yet tighten up the handling a bit other than that I have slowed down a lot over the years. I have from time to time an excuse to drive fast to the hospital in an emergency. I got there a few minutes sooner but I but my self and others in danger doing it. I don't do it any longer. I am of more use if I don't help to clog up the ER! Look at the Modifications Forum and you will see a number of things you can do to improve handling. I may yet be tempted. The car accelerates fast enough for me. Over all I would have to say it is one of the more fun cars to drive that have owned over the years.
If it helps, the government wants you to buy the Prius more than any other car -- that's why the government pays you more to buy a Prius than any other car. http://www.aceee.org/transportation/taxcredits06.pdf
19K miles, 11 months ownership. Still love driving it, talking about it, and seeing more than double the mileage of my last car. But then again, I was never into performance cars. If I want to drive real fast....I do it at work.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(MyPria @ Apr 29 2006, 01:26 PM) </div> Is that your other car pictured in your avatar? What sort of mileage do you get with it, and does it use regular or premium swamp plants? Tom
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TidelandTravis @ Apr 29 2006, 01:50 AM) </div> This is worth pursuing. Why did you buy a Prius? How long did you consider it before buying? How long did you wait for delivery?
My previous car was a BMW 745i- a lot different than a Prius. I love my Prius. I can't compare the two cars however. One is a gas engine sports sedan- one is a hypbrid engine. Clearly its not going to have the pick up, sterring etc of an $80,000 car- so comparing the two is not smart. Solely looking at the Prius for what it is-- it is an amazing car- that is not a novelty. If you care about the environment and want to drive a car that supports that- a car with all kinds of technology and is fun- get the Prius- but don't compare apples and oranges.
