A headlight bulb just went out in my wife's 2006 Prius. Rather than buying a crappy $30 dim yellow replacement bulb from the local AutoZone (or paying the outrageous $75 from the dealer), I've been looking into aftermarket HID kits online. I've read all the posts on Prius Chat regarding this, but have yet to find one thread that compares Xenon Supply, Morimoto, & Xenon Depot - all 3 in one post.

I would like actual owner's opinions who have installed the kit themselves & driven with these for some time. No, I'm not interested in the DDMs or other discount options. I'm looking for quality, longevity, fitment, ease of install, & no issues - flickering, error codes, killing the prius battery early, etc. I've heard of issues with Morimoto bulbs & wire shadow, but very good reviews otherwise. Good things on Xenon Supply & Xenon Depot, but in different threads that didn't directly compare to one another.

I've done some research, applied some coupon codes, & here is what I've come up with. All are essentially the same price, & specs seem to be congruent as well.

    1) Xenon Supply - $143.99 with coupon - Toyota Prius HID Xenon Headlight Package Deal - Toyota Prius HID Lights
    2) Morimoto (via The Retrofit Source) - $136.00 with coupon - 9003/H4: Morimoto Elite HID System - HID Systems from The Retrofit Source Inc
    3) Xenon Depot (via KB Car Stuff) - $129.90 with coupon - H4 Xtreme Digital HID Conversion Kits

Looking to purchase ASAP as she's down a headlight bulb.
I appreciate the prompt & honest feedback.

    Cheers!

Definitely #2 Morimoto Retrofit Source Inc.

I've had mine for almost 2 years and no problems.

I will say this about xenon supply. They have a 3-year warranty on their products. A bulb I had installed on my Hyundai gave out after 33 months of too much usage by me to be honest, and they not only sent me a replacement bulb and wiring, but they sent me two! They sent it rush delivery to NC from CA and I got it in two days. Great customer service

If you don't mind me asking. What discount code did you use for the retrofit source. I'm looking for some HIDs as well.

Sorry for the delay - haven't been on here in a while.... I've just posted the coupon to your profile, @Bagito. Didn't want to post it on this thread, in case they cancelled the coupon for some reason. Enjoy!

Just my two cents, bought from XenonSupply a couple of weeks ago for my Prius and they have been nothing less than professional. I did some price comparisons too, and I gotta say the couple of extra bucks are totally worth it just for their superb customer service with troubleshooting any issues that might come up. I called twice, and I got the impression that they really care about making sure the customer has an easy install and getting it right the first time.

    Like what Red15Persona said:
It's evident that they stand by their product, and not much more to say for a pair of reliable lights.
