    Hello folks,

I am here to research Prius, planning to buy within a year or so. Thought of doing research as and when I get a chance.

I come from Subaru Forester. No complaints about Forester, except the mileage which is 25mpg. Consider Prius as a second car for mileage purpose and city driving (which DW does a lot, 95% of it).

I wonder if Prius chat maintain threads of prices paid and the dealerships? At Forester forum, a thread is maintained where everyone reports the trims, options, trade-ins, price paid and the dealership. Accord forums maintains a google sheet of the same information. I found both of these options extremely helpful when I set out to buy either of those vehicles. Forester forum members also suggest few dealerships, who are known to offer least prices. Thus, I got my Forester from NH and I am NY resident. Forester was delivered to me at Stamford, CT. I didn't haggle at all, just a few emails back and forth to finalize the options and one call to book the car, that's it. I never met my sales agent. Extremely pleasant experience.

So I am here to ask
    - If prices paid and dealership thread is maintained here or is there similar system (except everyone making a new thread).
    - Are there are any preferred or no-haggle dealerships around the country?

    Thanks in advance.

There is a dealers and pricing forum, but I think that's it.

Here's all you need to know:

Gas prices low=lower hybrid demand=lower prices.
Gas prices high=higher hybrid demand=higher prices.

What will gas prices be in a "year or so" when you're ready to buy? o_O Also, the new 2016 Prius (Gen4) will be out so data on deals and prices now will be basically irrelevant (apples and oranges).

    Thank you guys.

I agree with fotomoto. I have been keeping an eye on the prices for a while and haven't noticed any significant change from last year's almost $4/gallon prices. So although I agree with your argument, I don't really know whats going on at the dealership. The timing of my purchase can not change due to few things planned and financial obligations. Plus, I truly hate bargaining. My Forester purchase experience was the best. I prefer that kind of experience. When I went to check RAV4 at local dealership during forester purchase, I had to spend 3 hours telling the salesman that I am not interested in buying now as I haven't checked other equivalent SUVs (which I had already told them by email beforehand). I wasn't very impressed with that dealership. Total time it took to purchase Forester was far less than 3 hours. Hence this question.

I also hate bargaining (ok, maybe I like it a little), but I know that a little back and forth can potentially save thousands of dollars. I saved $3,500 more of my Persona, then if I would have just taken their original asking price. That kind of money for probably a few hours of bargaining through email is well worth it to me. I don't care what kind of experience I have in the dealership. I knew I was buying a great product, I just had to survive the middle man first. I think I did and saving that kind of money is worth their guilt trip!
