The old Firebird looks like it is losing weight. (It looks more like Swiss Cheese!)

Great Build. I have an old 1957 Chevy 4 door I'd love to do this to. LOL

Did someone ask for a Swiss Cheese photo? :)

Today was mostly a clean-up day in the garage. Lots of cut metal went off to the storage garage for later when I'll need to fabricate filler pieces from it. Got the traction battery loose from the body, but a cable in the harness runs through a hole in the floor keeping it from moving very far. At the end of the day I had the rear of the "v" up in the air. There are two connectors I need to get apart the next time I get time in the garage.

when you really get to see all that goes into a car, it amazes that they turn them out by the millions.

Minor hip injury (muscular) and forecast 90degF with high humidity. Probably going to be an indoor weekend.

Took a vacation day because the weather in Ohio is beautiful. Having more fun with the saws-all in the garage. One rear wheel well is done, now on to the other one. :)

Bill, I'm new around here, but I found your thread last week and read it from the beginning to get caught up - you already know it, but it's a really fun project. I can't wait to see how it unfolds.
I let my husband judge for himself what he should go near. He avoids anything bigger than a steak knife, and the power tools are definitely my domain.

I lasted about 15 minutes in the garage. Very hot and humid here this weekend. One cut and I was done in.

Glad I'm taking this coming Friday off. Maybe the weather will be better.

Had some time between appointments today. Marked some rear quarter panel cuts needed on the "v" chassis. Also made a cutting template for the Firebird rear rockers.

Any reason why your not using thin kerf metal cutting wheels on a 10K RPM grinder instead of the metal reciprocating saw blades?

One big reason! I won't have the power for the air compressor run to the garage until spring. I tried the cut-off wheels on my drill but I was unable to devote the extra time.

The saws-all is for rough cuts. I just recently purchased an electric shear that I am going to try for the first time this weekend. We'll see how it does...

It was a beautiful Friday to take off from work. I had some workmen outside of the house, so between their questions I got some things done in the garage.

The last cut-outs on the rear of the Prius v chassis were completed.

I then got out my new electric metal shears for their first try. After a bit of a wobbly start I got a nice straight, smooth cut down the length of the Firebird body's right rocker on the outside.

I got all the way down to the end, then... plink... one of the shear's blades snapped. The good news is that I ordered spare blades. The bad news is that they are back-ordered and will ship in about 2 weeks.

Hoping i get more time this weekend to make more progress.
