Making rear bumper LEDs. 1- Buy led strips. I got mine from eBay in red. 2- Remove marker from bumper. It's held on by one screw. Easy access. 3- Cut the "TOP" so that you can insert LED strip. I did not have the right tools on hand so I just drill them in. *Do not drill to deep like I did you will damage the reflector. Not a big deal. *My led bar were a bit too long. So I hack saw off about one CM. *Also remove them from the metal frame housing that they come in. So you get a thin raw LED strip. 4- I used a hot glue gun to fill in the hole to protect from moisture. 5- I had to extend the wires. So I did so by soldering them together and heat shrinking the joints. 6- Drill a hole at the top where the reflect goes in to run the wires.byoy can rewire them however you want after. I left mine tuck away for now as the bumper will be off soon for something else. I'll do it then. I also bought white ones and use them for the trunk. Just run the wires from left to right behind the panels. Power source was from the trunk light. Sorry not all pictures are there. But you get the idea.
Brilliant idea for the cargo space! Thanks for sharing! Are the cargo white led strips mounted as is (just glued to the wall?) or did you insert them in something fancier?
Cool! It looks very clean when they're lit! I'm serioulsly thinking of something similar, the cargo area is quite underlit.
what are the exact ones you ordered for: I also bought white ones and use them for the trunk. Just run the wires from left to right behind the panels. Power source was from the trunk light. Thanks.
