Yep did it today ! 19,258 sales price of car, but we got a protection package (door guards & stuff), so I figure we would have been around 18,900 without the extras.

Kinda forgot about paying sales tax to include the Toyota rebates (annoying).

For us buying a car was a "want" not a "need", and while the wifey had wanted one...we could have waited, but her new building at work they dedicated ~100 spots for electric/hybrid vehicles, so you can park right outside if you have a Prius or you can walk 20 minutes with a regular gas engine vehicle, so that was a huge bonus, and

Our indoor parking spot in SF is crazy small (apartment building), and I'm pretty sure the 2016 will be a bit bigger than the 2015 which would be bad for us, so the stars aligned and we got a Prius ! (The Prius is 4.4" longer than our current car... I don't even wanna think about a bigger car... ACK ! haha)

Now to just get a good radio/NAV/Android thing installed :p

I bought my 2014 a year ago March. When I decided I wanted to buy a Prius, The deal was zero percent for 48 months or 1000 cash back. the deal was ending at the end of the month but I needed to sell my other car first. Got my car sold and the new deal was zero for 60 or 1000 cash. I bought the car and later found out they were offering even more cash back. I have really enjoyed owning this car and don't regret waiting longer. All that to say, I would go ahead and start shopping and try to find the exact car you want, Color, interior , options, etc.

I expect Toyota might have limited production of the new Prius the first year. That could keep prices high on the first year gen 4

So the backup camera is nice!!! (We have to back it in next to a wall on top of having a really small space.)

We got it at City Toyota (Daly City). I think we could have done a wee bit better on price - I'm not totally sure on the value of the protection package, but they had black in stock which some other dealers were out of, and it's almost our closest dealer.

Anyway here's a brag pic from the wifey this morning. Her's is the black prius in center and the camera shot is from the door of her building which is as close as you can get without a handicap sticker. She figures she's saving 30-40 minutes everyday because of the hybrid/electric lot, and doesn't have to walk hella far to park in normal car area. She said all the cars there are Prius or Tesla's ! lol

For me it was a no brainer to purchase a 2015 Persona. $22,000 before taxes and fees and this car handles superbly with the steering and tires/rims it has. The interior is excellent too. I would have to pay at least $8-10k more for a similarly equipped 2016, even with the new suspension, interior upgrades and averaging 5mpg more, there is no way that would be worth it. Plus, I honestly don't like the new design, especially the rear!

Buy now! The 2016 is UGLY!!! Some people that were waiting for it might change their mind after seeing it and have decided to just buy the 2015.

This forum is the wrong place to get advice regarding your purchase. Spend $15 with Consumer Reports and buy your car net/net/net (net invoice, net current monthly incentives, net holdback). If you like, they'll provide several firm offers by email to your inbox. We got ours at that price and got another $100 off, and another tank of gas to sign. That's below dealer cost, factory invoices, and 'secret holdback"...Just be courteous to sign docs and pickup your car on a Tuesday morning when mom & pop aren't on the lot. The dealer will still make a buck, trust me (I have a current state license, when chemists aren't working they still have bills to pay).

Actually, Gen 3 has been out since spring 2009, initially as a 2010 model.

    Congratulations.
I was going to say, if you're convinced you want a Gen 3, I wouldn't of bothered waiting.
Dealers are making deals NOW based on the truth the Gen 4 is coming.
I don't think you'd find significantly better deals months from now, you would however probably find reduced inventories and less choice.

Glad you got what you wanted, and a good deal.

Claustrophobia is a strange thing. I also have big time claustrophobia. However, for me it is with elevators and such where I feel 'locked in'. The flying buttress of our 2010 does not even bother me. However, I can certainly see how it could affect someone.

Buy NOW before the word gets out and people start snapping up the last of the G3's.

I understand that we still don't have much hard data about the G4's underpinnings, and I know that beauty is only skin deep.....

.........but UGLY goes all the way to the bone!!

    Just sayin!

In my opinion we did the right thing buying a Gen 3 Prius 3. The 16's are not to my liking. The front end is OK but they missed it completely in the back end styling.
So we will happily drive our '15 for the next ten years or so and hopefully Toyota will get their design team back in order. Maybe pick up some Hyundai people to help them along.

    Hi Whistler,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am also looking to buy Prius Two, not II as only 2010 used roman numerals, 2015.
Wondering this (19258) is the base price with 0% 60month financing? did you pay taxes on top of the base price?

Would it be reasonable if you could share the breakup you paid to drive prius -II home? Highly appreciate your help!!!

    Thanks

seeing as how gas is pretty cheap now, you should probably buy now, b/c a lot of dealers are marking down their priis

but idk, gas could go even lower? and priis could get more markdowns? =D

I signed up for a chase checking account, with automatic payment they gave me an apr of 1.93%. I do not know how one guy on this forum was able to get 3000 Rebate + 0%. I tried all the dealers out there in my area, they all said no. I wanna wait for the 2016 prius too, but it looks so ugly, all that waiting was pretty much for nothing.

2015 Prius Two, not II since only 2010 used uppercase roman numerals, Sea Glass Pearl
Added: Carpet floor mats & Cargo Mat

    $21,300 OTD
