    Hey all,
Just want to say this has been a great source of information for me. I have a Black 2006 Package #5 coming to my local dealership and hate that I have to wait almost 2 months to see it. I could have taken a white one right up front, but decided to hold out for either black or silver. I'll be lurking around and hope to contribute to the discussions. Just wanted to say hello to the board.

Hello, and welcome! You'll be able to find out lots of useful information here on the boards during the time you're waiting (anxiously I'm sure) for your Prius to arrive. You'll probably come out knowing more about the Prius than the salespeople at the dealership. I love your avatar!

P.S. I waited ~5.5 months for mine...it was SO worth the wait and then some, when I finally got to drive it off the lot!!

Black is the coolest Prius color, although I might be slightly biased. :p

We waited six weeks to get our black #7, but it was well worth the wait.

I had to wait just short of six months for my '06 Prius. Worth the wait. Hang in there.

Congrats and join the wait!! I ordered mine (black pkg #8) the end of February and have an expected delivery date of May-June. I called about a week ago and we are right on track...Hang out here and you will be driving like a Prius Pro when you drive off the lot!!!

It is worth the wait... especially with gas going up...

Black is nice... but not where I live. Too many dirt roads & dirt and sand on the roads in winter. :(

I too am waiting on a Red #8 coming in about 3 weeks. I looked at the Prius 2 yrs ago but was unsure of safety given the cars size. After the crash tests, I am convinced it is a safe car. Looking forward to higher gas mileage. I too read the post on this site for info. and it is helpful. I am curious why the PC Magazine rated the NAV system poor. They did not elaborate as to why it is poor. They are also adding the XM satellite radio to my car. I have it on my current car and love it. Look forward to sharing pics of my new ride soon! Dan

    Congratulations!!!.

Previous owner of a motorcycle R69S BMW from the old days, and several sports cars Mitsubishi VR4, but this is today. And, I honestly from my heart think you'll be happy with this vehicle. Also, you'll find some very nice folks at this site for tips and advise.

I've got a probably too loaded 2006 blue Prius. But, I'm so very happy with this vehicle. I'm a severely disabled veteran. I didn't make a mistake here.

Enjoy this new vehicle that is coming.

    Gary in Minnesota. :)

There's no such thing as a "too loaded" Prius for a disabled vet, Gary. You more than deserve it.

Welcome to PC, both Deaden and Dan. Deaden, I've noticed you found FHOP soon enough.

Dan, you can pass time joining us in one of our *clears throat* stimulating discussions on non-Prius issues. :)

Jennifer and galaxee are black chicks who drive Priuses---there's even a club with about 7 or 8 of "them". No, wait. It's chicks who drive black...no, that's not right, either...drat, I get SO confused when I don't take my medicine...

    Ditto to that!

Amazing the things you can learn in FHOP!

There's a club for cool chicks with black Priuses; there's the wild and crazy guys who drive Barcelona Red Priuses; there's the Barcelona Red Prius Owners against War group, and there's a club for people who get confused when they forget to take their medicine (that might be the largest group on PC)

I admit a shiny black Prius looks really cool but I'd never own a black car 'cause every black car I've ever been in in the summer has been as hot as a frying pan. They seem to absorb more heat than lighter colors. My sis in law & bro had a black Supra & you could've baked a pie in that thing. They said no more black cars;hottest car they ever owned.

Glad to meet you ! I was in your shoes just 2 days ago ! Got mine yesterday ! It's a really cool car. It's a loaded red 2005 demo with only 1200+ miles on it. Don't know whether it's the salsa red or the Barcelona. Whatever it is it's gorgeous !

    If it's a 2005, then it's a Salsa Red like mine.

BTW - small world - my daughter's handle on chat rooms is Guenhwyvar. :p

Welcome aboard. Priuschat is a hoot and an excellent resource. Believe me, you'll be happy to have joined once you start rummaging through the owner's manual and trying to figure it all out. I felt like I had inherited a Klingon starship, but I love it.
