This week, I decided to buy a Prius for all the obvious reasons + I just had to have it. I have a great contact that owns many dealership in the US. and can hook me up pronto. Dealer can get me a Classic Silver package #8 this weekend, or I can wait 2-4 weeks to get the new Magnetic Grey. I have seen the silver and its fine. I have yet to see the grey in person. I want to know if it is worth the wait, or is the grey overrated? I am leaning towards the grey, from the photos I have seen online, but would rather hear it form someone who has experienced it in carne viva . Boy, regardless, I am EXCITED!

Go see the magnetic gray yourself, now, on a new Camry. Every Toyota dealer I've checked has magnetic gray '07 Camrys on their lots.

My soon to be deliverd Prius has the color of Ultra Silver. Is that the same as Classic Silver and do they use different names in Europe or is it a different color?
Same colour, different name. Like how Salsa Red was Regency Red in Europe and... darn I forgot what they called it in Australia/NZ. Something to do with red wine heh.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tideland Prius @ Apr 28 2006, 08:20 PM) </div> Thanks. Hopefully in 2 weeks I can post some pictures.
I have photos of the new magnetic grey if anyone wants em.... just write and I'll send them to you as jpegs.

I had the darker grey color on a previous car and didn't like it because it shows the dirt too much for as well as being hotter than silver......so I went back to silver again...and love it.
Pics I got from Teddy. How's everyone like the Gray compared to the Silver? [attachmentid=3188][attachmentid=3187][attachmentid=3189][attachmentid=3190]
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(bagwell @ Apr 28 2006, 08:38 PM) </div> I've answered about seven emails now about the grey, happy to help. The above photo was taken on an overcast day so it might not be the best example, but I gotta say, I loves me the Magnetic Grey!!! It says, "I'm not really black, yet I'm sorta sporty." Or that's the wine talking. Get the leather, my only piece of advice. My work friends that own a Prius are very jealous because their cloth seats and whatnot get dirty just looking at them. OMG I'm such a Prius snob now... I look at all those Transformers/ Voltrons/ SUVs/ Challenger Shuttle leftovers driving down the freeway and I say "suckers!".
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(teddy b @ Apr 28 2006, 09:26 PM) </div> Teddy, do you think the Gray will be like a black car to keep clean???
I guess it depends on your own personal choice. I chose silver over gray because I like "cool tones" (white undertone) over "warm tones" (yellow undertone). To me, the gray was warm... but I'm being nitpicky.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(busyrosy @ Apr 29 2006, 09:24 AM) </div> I can't decide between the Gray and Silver. I like the Silver, but not sure if I want to get it since there are too many Silver Prii around. Too many Silver cars in general. The Gray looks good to me, but doesn't do that much. It doesn't grab my attention in the picture. I would like to see it in person, but there aren't any on the lots. Gray would be harder to keep clean than Silver. Decisions, decisions...
Took these pictures at the dealer today (southern california). [attachmentid=3250] [attachmentid=3251] [attachmentid=3252] [attachmentid=3253]
I do have to say that the grey is very nice looking. Im also fond of the black one as well. However, I have owned two black vehicles and am now never going to own another. Dont get me wrong, I think they look great but I am a freak about condition. Here in texas, I dont know if it is due to large "rearends" but people cannot open their doors without smacking the $%!! out of your car. I have so many scratches from the sort and I can even see fingernail scratches near my handles (on a jeep cherokee). I cant stand it. I went with the silver because it will be better in the heat and if it does get scratched you cant see it from 100 ft away. This was my thinking that convinced me not to get the grey. It will show dirt and scratches much like that of a black one. But that is my preferance. They both look great but I have to opt for the silver. By the way my younger brother has a ford escort (silver) and I dont think he has ever washed the thing. Still looks like he does though . Good luck with the color choosing.
