Subs. Buy 1 good sub, not 2 average ones. Less weight, more trunk space; there's no real benefit to multiple subs unless you are doing it for looks.
I have a 8 inch bazooka tube strapped to the back of the rear seat through the child seat anchors. Thumps good enough for me.

Bazooka tube Velcro strapped to back of seat with banana clips for easy removal should I need to. 640 watt 5 Channel soundstream amp under passenger seat. Blaupunkts up front, jbl 3 ways in rear. It may not be a high tier sound system, but I am pleased and it thumps enough to vibrate the seats and rearview.
