I have been reading many posts on this forum ever since I got my 2015 Model 3. I have learned a lot. This morning something happened that gives me a new challenge. I probably can not upload a photo but my fog light placeholder got dislodged and in addition the area bent a bit. I think it can be bent back. I am certain the fog placeholder is lost. I had no chance to see the damage on a country road in the middle of the night when an animal ran into it. It has been making me feel grief. At the same time I no longer have the placeholder on the left side. Does anyone know how much this could cost to replace, and who (dealer, body) should I go to?
I reviewed the damage again and it looks like the front bumper cover was pushed towards the outside. It sticks out now at the side. If this means that the front bumper cover has to be replaced or if the bumper cover can be adjusted back into place I will have to find out. Yikes. I also checked online. I know it was a raccoon and I feel terrible. Is there anything I need to know about choosing a body shop?
Pics would help immensely. The sides might just need to be pushed into the clips that hold the corner on. The other piece you mention is called the foglight blank or shroud, depending on whether you have a foglight or not.
The foglight blank is now on order and I hope none of the original clips got broken. Thanks xliderider for the assessment and it seems right. I hope the body shop will agree.
