Okay, quick run down; 2004 prius Brake sensors, all 4, changed Accumulator changed Still throwing codes even when reset by dealer. They have bled the brake lines 5 times, reset codes and still throwing codes. Any thoughts?
Every last bit of your question comes down to exactly what codes are being thrown. So what are they? -Chap
Codes, I'm not sure, I'll call dealer in the morning. Tech stream, again, not sure, I'll ask tomorrow. More tomorrow, thanks.
Yes they use tech stream. Codes, he will not give me what it is throwing until he has something to "stand behind." I'm not sure what that means but it sounds like they are just wanting to sit on the car for no reason...thought?
I think you can safely mention you know some Prius people who don't think it is reasonable for the dealer to read the codes and withhold them from the owner. -Chap
I agree. I will call and get them tomorrow even if I have to go into the dealership. I'll advise tomorrow.
I okay, here is what I know now. I called the dealership and the person over the service dept admitted that it wasn't throwing codes, it was just the accumulator and the mechanic couldn't get it to work. He was checking the connections to make sure there was not a "loose connection." He said that the mechanic "worked on it a couple of days last week", don't they work on a car till it's fixed? Do they have to let it sit so they can think about it? I'm at wit' send. What do I do now?
Well they said they weren't going to charge unless they found something. Not sure what that means but I'm thinking about having it hauled to another shop, sound reasonable?
it does to me, how long can you wait? sounds like they are clueless. otoh, these guys owe you if they did the work. you'll have to pay another shoppe to fix their mistakes.
Car is needed for daughter to go yo college tomorrow, meanwhile, it sits at dealership with folks standing around scratching their heads...ugh
