Hey guys, my dealer called a week ago and said the estimated delivery date of my car is Jun 21st! TODAY! But still no call, although the day is still young... Anyway my question is, did anyone's other dealers give an estimated delivery date? And if so, was it accurate? Im trying to plan a trip around this since i have to drive 500 miles, so any info would be great, thanks!
I ordered on Dec 27, 2003. At that time the salesman estimated May or June if deliveries remained as they were occurring. My car was delivered on May 28th.
My dealer estimated mid March (ordered in January) Actual day I took possestion: April 7 (It arrived at the dealer the 6th) Brian
When I placed my order in late-February, my dealer said to expect delivery in April. Of 2005! Checked in with him a few weeks ago and he's holding firm to the original estimate. I sure hope it comes in the morning because I'm booked for the afternoon.
Well, he knows its shipped... Im talking how accurate is the Estimated Delivery date the Shippers give are? Its on a truck somwhere, and i really need to know if it will be here today.. How late do they ship, its already 5!
The carriers drop carsat dealerships around the clock. I got to see mine delivered at the dealer. I was driving by on my way home from work and stopped to see if they had an update. It was just driving off the carrier. I stopped the driver and asked him to check the VIN; it was mine.
So is the date they give pretty accurate? Im EAGERLY waiting like everyone for my prius and its soooo close, yet sooo far away How late do you think they would call if my car did arrive? Thanks for helping btw!
When I got the call from my dealer, the car had been loaded on a transport truck and was somewhere between southern California and the central coast where I live. They didn't know how long it would take to get here. It wound up taking about 3 days for it to actually get here (why, I don't know.) However, once it was here, it had to be checked out by the mechanics at the dealer, and as luck would have it one of the three who were authorized for the Prius was on vacation, another had a family emergency and the third had all kinds of things to do and was backed up. So I had to wait another day. Overall it took about 5 days from the first call until I could actually go and pick it up. The buying/signing process took a few hours. My guess is that each case is a bit different. Good luck, and have fun when you get it! 8)
when i ordered late October, i was told they confirmed it to be of January production and should arrive late February. True enough, got the call on valentine's day!
Kev, I may have missed this, but do you have a VIN ? When my dealer called to let me know he had a car for me, he immediately gave me the VIN. That confirmed that all the information he gave me was right on track. If you still have not heard anything further, you might consider asking for the VIN. That way you can rest, assured that the Prius is "in the mail."
yep, i have a VIN, he gave me it a week ago... He told me its in washington state right now and waiting to be put on a train. But how long does that take? A whole week?
I placed my order on March 8th and was told that it would be 8-10 weeks. I checked three weeks ago and it look like it will be in August or September.
"He told me its in washington state right now and waiting to be put on a train. But how long does that take? A whole week?" Train delivery is not like truck delivery. It can easily take a week or two. Good luck.
New Guy Here Hi there Prius People, my name is Mike Santander and I'm new to this site. I heard about this from Sharon Johnson, one of my favorite customer. She ordered a prius from me. As of June 22, 04 we have approximately 80 people on our lists for prius. I hoping that one of these days Toyota Motor Company will deliver atleast 100 prius per dealer here in washington state. Too bad ain't gonna happen. I work for Heartland Toyota/Scion in Bremerton, WA and if there's anything that I can do for any of you in the near future, here's my email address and phone numbers. That's a good thing. It means it'll be at the dealership within 1-3 weeks defends on the trucking company
Number 11 and counting! Well, I was tired of my sales contact person NOT telling me where was on the list, so I called Toyota Motor Co. itself. They were very nice and gave me another contact to contact. Did so. Not in today, but there was yet another person who “could help me.†He did. I’m now number 11 on the list! This sounds great, but “Randy†said I was still about 2 months out. Sigh. He asked me what package I wanted (9) and color (anything but white). Odd that he asked me this, since I thought I HAD ALREADY TOLD MY FIRST SALES PERSON THIS INFO!. Who to believe? I’ll believe it when I have the fob in my hot little hand and my (whatever color) Prii in my own garage. Jim
