What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????

Cleaned out the garage and finally parked in there first time since I bought it April 2015.

Achtung! I installed (German) wheel-specific valve stem caps!


To translate:
VL = Vorne Links = Front Left tire
VR = Vorne Rechts = Front Right tire
HL = Hintern Links = Back Left tire
HR = Hintern Rechts = Back Right tire

The advantage of this mod is that I will immediately know if the dealer or Costco actually rotates the tires or not!
Besides, these caps satisfy the inner Obsessive-Compulsive in me!

 

How do you verify that they changed the oil and filter element?

 

They just keep your valve cap and install the green one on there. LOL

 

So I've reinstalled my valentis twice now and can't figure out why they won't fit flush. All the clips are holding and popped in. I've even tightened the nuts. Any ideas?

I just had my routine maintenance on my car, what I always did was, I use a white chalk to draw a line on the inner side of my 2 front tires, put a dent on the oil filter and checked the oil after they handed me the car was really yellow clear.

Yeah, I'm starting to think I have a defective unit.

I took a break and looked at other people's pictures and the fitment of mine looks nothing like everyone else's. I just got the car back together before I lose daylight again. While playing around with the lights, I noticed the inner housing on the right side was a little loose. I tried to tighten the screws and they kept spinning. When I opened it up, I found that some of the pieces where the screws thread into were broken. I had to replace some screws with longer ones so they'd reach and fully tighten.

It didn't seem to affect fitment though. I'm gonna write to the ebay seller and ask about getting an exchange at this point.

 

I can see clearly now that my camera is on.... Blind spots are real in the Prius!

This was a pain in the azz and I pray this cheap thing doesn't stop working lol!!!

Love the etch, make sure you do a walk through on the clear lens

 

I also swapped in clear lenses from TRS in my G's headlights also, but I went with the STi-R lens.
Here is the original fresnel lens.


Here is the new STi-R clear lens.


While I had the headlights apart, I fixed the RHD shield to flat, then painted the front of the shield in blue.


I haven't taken any output shots, but it's nice and flat now and no blinding the oncoming traffic.
The blue shield is generally not noticeable, but in certain angles looks really good.
Was definitely a lot of work taking them apart and modifying the shield, but it's worth it once you see the output. (Maybe I'll post a write up)

I'm having a bit of trouble finding those LED lower turn signal/running lights....where did you finf them..I've nee looking on auto style-USA. ebay, yahoo japan , and amazon....????
