That's correct. There's no MUTE button on the Gen 2. You can hold the MODE button on the steering wheel to turn on/off the radio, in addition to the PWR button.
That's so inconvenient and my only gripe about the car. When there's an incoming phone call I would fumble for the Mute button only to find it's not there!
Doesn't the car automatically mute the music when you answer the phone? Unless you're not using bluetooth. In that case, like I said, hold the MODE button on the steering wheel.
I notice the 2 buttons, VOL and TUNE-FILE, can be pushed in. At first I tried to press it down, thinking intuitively that it's "mute" and was really disappointed that it didn't do anything. Anyone know the purpose of pressing down these 2 buttons or why they're designed to have the 'up' and 'down' positions?
Nice feature though. It prevents inconsiderate front seat passengers from tampering with your audio controls, especially when you're listening to something you like. My teenage daughter is frightfully guilty of that. My vehicle, MY MUSIC....(in her case!). Occasional passengers of course, get concessions iPhone 6s +
