I'm about to buy a package 5 sometime over the next month or two. I was wondering what dealers in the Seattle area people have used. I'd rather not pay over MSRP obviously. Suggestions? I'm willing to travel a little at least.
I just bought a Package 7 from the dealer up in Burlington. Nice folks, also liked the dealer down in Burien, whom I have bought from in the past. Neither charges over MSRP. Most of the dealers have websites and some of them list what new cars they have in stock. The more detailed ones show what package each is. And some show MSRP which you can use to guess the package. Of course you can also order one, too.
If you don't mind a little travel you might try Moses Lake, Yakima and Tri-Cities they usually have a better selection of colors and packages.

They often have cars on the ground, or can get you something in short order, and MSRP is the rule....no extra markups. His name is Lou Donin, and he has taken very good care of us.
Thanks for the advice I started with Toyota of Burien since they're closest. The good thing is that I'm not really in a hurry to get the new car, so I can play the waiting game.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ Apr 27 2006, 06:53 AM) </div> We ended up getting our car in Portland, 1 week and no hassle. Burien says they'll stick with MSRP, which is good. Did you get the test drive by "David"? How many times did he have you put the car in "B" mode? There have been some very favorable posts about Renton Toyota and Yakima. You might want to contact them as well. I had a bad run in with the internet sales lady at Moses Lake. Got a "firm" quote from her and when I was ready to buy, she had to speak to her salesmanager (right). Price suddenly went up $1000. I told them thanks for wasting my time, but no thanks.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Begreen @ Apr 27 2006, 07:05 AM) </div> I got my test drive from Magic Toyota a few weeks ago. They seemed nice enough but that extra grand is a sticking point. Also, the salesman tried to talk me into buying a used (3k miles from someone who decided that she wanted a cheaper model) car without bringing up that it wouldn't qualify for the tax credit, so that's a strike against.
I bought my car from Toyota of Yakima. I worked with Jerry Olson. He did a regional swap to get my car for me in under two weeks. MSRP. I drove from Denver, CO to pick it up as there was/is a very large waiting list for the Prius in the Denver area. Love the car, and couldn't be happier with the dealership and Jerry Olson... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ Apr 26 2006, 11:01 PM) </div>
Just curious: did you take your screen name from the "Zzyzx" exit on I-15, south of Lost Wages (Las Vegas)? That's the only other place I've seen it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ Apr 26 2006, 09:01 PM) </div> Good luck on the package #5. We've not been able to locate or obtain one at all yet, and now it doesn't look like it's going to happen for us anytime soon. After talking to a few of the dealers in the Seattle area, we bailed and started conversations and "signed up" with Yakima two weeks ago, but they're not having any luck securing a #5 or 6 for us even though they thought they would be able to. Apparently they just aren't availble for 2006 anymore, or at least that is the line we are getting now, and order time is a big unknown and it could be a 2007 before we got one. Looks like we'll end up going with a #7 or a #4 since we don't want to wait and take the risk on not getting the full tax credit. You might want to try Oregon, I don't know how much dealer trading goes on between Washington and Oregon.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ Apr 26 2006, 10:01 PM) </div> I bought mine at Bob Bridge Toyota in Renton. Good people. They were able to get it in under a month. I'm not certain what the wait list is now. As gas prices go up and peoples tax returns come in I'd expect the wait list to grow. Good luck.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zzyzx @ Apr 27 2006, 01:01 AM) </div> You will probably pay over MSRP, but you will also be able to negotiate the difference on the trade etc. at Michael's Toyota in Bellevue. I have purchased 4 cars from them and have always been treated like gold. The service department is great too. If you decide to buy from them, please PM me so I can give you my name as your referral source. The last purchase was with Joe Woolery.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(biker girl @ May 1 2006, 09:47 PM) </div> Bob Bridge quoted me a 4-6 week wait for #5. We'll see if it works or not. I don't want to pay extra for a crappy navigation system that's not exactly getting stellar reviews, but I want the better stereo. If a few weeks pass, I'll see what I have to do.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(biker girl @ May 1 2006, 09:47 PM) </div> Bob Bridge just called me. Silver Package 5 (and yes I doublechecked that "HI" is package 5) is on its way. I'll be getting it in 3 weeks +-. I guess it's not impossible.
