I'm scared. When I'm driving with Windows up and audio off I can hear this hollow road noise, static buzzing sound from my back right side. It's driving me insane knowing my brand new prius is doing this and I'm getting crap for help from Toyota. Any one heard of this or know a fix?
shouldn't be any constant noises in the prius, except road noise. i'm afraid you're going to have to take your service manager for a ride. still under warranty.
I took it in yesterday unable to 're make the sound. Later that day my wife was with me and goes " what the hell is that sound" and I'm like " that's it! That the sound you thought I was crazy"
Unless you live in one of those rare places with smooth roads this will be a self-solving problem. Pretty soon all of the plastic panels on the inside of your car will loosen up and start creaking and grating and it will mask whatever noise you hear at present.....either that of the audio system will when you decide to turn it back on. I can't remember which side the HV battery blower is on, but you'll want to make sure that it's not the source of the noise, since bad things might happen if it stops venting. Your car is under warranty. If your dealership is unresponsive to the noise, try another....but you should give them a chance to fix this. If your Prius is brand-brand new, then it's possible that you haven't filled out a customer satisfaction survey form yet---if Toyota still uses them. If not, you can try to contact the dealer manager and not the service writer. If this doesn't bring some relief then work your way up the food chain to the dealer's owner. If it really is an abnormally loud or unusual noise (Priuses creak and groan a lot) then repeated visits may lead to Toyota (not the dealer) opening up some kind of customer care case for the problem. Looks like it's finally staying up. Hhoorraay. Here's what torque says this time. I've checked gascap already. Also, is it common for a hissing sound when hit breaks in stop & go traffic?
My previous issues are back + some more. I'll be taking it in tomorrow again . Any tips? Anything I should mention? I'm about to flip out lemon law on this thing For those who didn't see my old thread it was about my ABS/traction/check engine turned on. Battery no longer charges through breaking and breaking doesn't break right now.
