3rd gen Prius 2014 smart key when i first had the car the door handle would only open the drivers door I asked the dealer if they could program the car to open all the doors from the drivers door handle they had the car hooked up to the computer and came back to tell me they could not do this and it would only open the drivers door I had a look at the owners manual and on page 72 it tells you how to change the doors to open by programing the car computer with the smart key now all doors open from the door handle
Yeah, that's pretty bad. Most likely they just didn't want to be bothered. If they really didn't know how to do it or really thought that it wasn't even possible ( like they told you), that's even worse! Definitely find a dealer that knows what they're doing and actually knows about the car.
To be fair, the Prius owner's manual(s) are like small phone books. I just spent a half-hour sitting in the garage running through the different menus to see what I could customize.
