Hello, I've wanted a prius for years, it drive 65 miles each way for work, and although my 96 toyota avalon has been great to me, it finally bought myself a new 2015 prius lift back 2 in nautical blue! I've been reading this forum for months and it love it!!
Welcome...are you able to use HOV on LIExpressway? Also note some EZ Pass discounts on the bridges etc...some prior threads
Yes, I can use the HOV lane with the car by myself, which was yet another reason I chose the prius. Haven't heard anything about ezpass discounts, do you have any more info on that?
Use search function to check past threads. I am not expert ...its complex as there is Thruway EZ Pass and Port Authority EZ Pass and if you play your cards right you can get both somehow. The thing I do know is for NJ and NY the rule tends to be 45 MPG or higher so you need the Prius liftback, things like Prius v and Camry hybrid fall below the 45 EPA avg rule New York State "Green" EZ Pass | PriusChat We're transplanted from NJ and my wife is from LI so we know the territory (kind of).
