I had damage to a tree at my place and wanted to replace it. While looking around at a tree place I saw the tree I wanted. I was not sure if it would fit in the Prius for the 30 mile trip home. I put the root ball in a trach bag so dirt would not spill out, put the seatd down in back, put the front passinger seat down, and loaded the tree at an angle. The bushy part was with me in the front for the trip home but it rode well and is now in the ground. People looked at me funny on the interstate but this car will do almost anything. I measured the tree when I got home...9ft counting the root ball.

I wish I had taken pictures...tree in ground now...will next time. It took a while to clean all of the little tree things out of the car. It was blooming at the time of travel home.
No, no. You'll go out and dig that thing back up. Stuff it back in the car and take pictures! This is important!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(huskers @ Apr 22 2006, 09:59 PM) </div> Heh heh. This past week (2nd week of owning) I went to help my ex buy a futon and we managed to fit it in without too much difficulty. We put both back seats down and had to move the passenger seat up (almost) all the way, and the main box was on top of the console lid so I could not open it; the mattress fit on top but I could close the hatch with the mattress pressed against the glass, and the side rail box fit into the driver side rear space. I was quite impressed, as I could not have done that in my just-recent 2002 Camry (trade-in for the Prius), though in the Explorer before that I could have, although at 19 mpg... :-O

Yeah the fold down seats with a hatchback is definately a good space saver, I was supriised I could lay down flat (6 feet) with no problem, if you put he passenger seat down there's another 3 feet Now it's just too bad I can fit a sheet of plywood in the back and I would be completely happy
