Liftgate- broken interior handle

    Hello,

    One of the interior handles for the liftgate broke off. I removed it. From what I can tell, this handle is molded to the interior trim part.

    I'd like to glue this piece back on, rather than having to purchase the complete lower trim piece.

    Any suggestions on the best type of glue for this plastic? Thanks! DSCF4407.jpg

    Probably ABS. Get ABS glue from the plumbing section of the Home Store.

    It's difficult to see in the photo, but below the RH (right hand side) raised lettering is this: PP/PE. Could this stand for a mix of polypropylene and polyethylene?

    maybe try a simple plastic glue from the hardware store, like model airplane glue.

    Test glues? Put a drop somewhere on the inside of the piece, maybe try bonding some scrap plastic to it?

    When you first posted I had to pull out the trim a bit on ours, had a look. Definitely just welded somehow, glue or heat.

    I have the same thing with my 07 Prius the whole lift gate was broken two times until I used loctite super glue then loctite epoxy, the main thing help me prevent the liftgate from being such weak is a handle I used to support, check this video:
