An additional resource is http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/A...placementGuide/ You can find the bulb requirements for pretty much any vehicle you might own
This is the same list as for the 2004. However if you have the foglights, you also have HID headlights, which uses different lamps that the ones listed for the headlights.
May I suggest that lists like this be vetted somewhat before posting, rather than simply parroting Sylvania's webpage? Note that turn signals aren't listed [they're also 7440 but with *amber* envelope], and as Ken points out the stoplights are LED arrays. Sylvania has a priority of selling their products, not necessarily giving accurate descriptions of what's actually on the car. . This was giving me slight fits back in the "LED lighting" threads, since I was trying to find a sufficiently bright LED replacement for the turn signals. And the fact that 7440 type lamps come in different colors threw me for a bit too. According to the packaging hanging on the AutoZone shelf, the suffix -NA means amber, but that's the only place I've run into that kind of notation. . Sigma's got a fairly good selection guide up, but the website needs a few changes to make it a bit less cumbersome. . _H*
Since I've been getting all close and personal with may of these bulbs, I figured I'd better start a list for my own sanity. I removed the info that I know to be false, and changed the other stuff that I have accurate info for. Here's my first stab: My attempt to accurately describe which bulbs fit where - 2006 Prius - High & low beam headlamp 9003 or HID Parking light 168/194/T-10 (5W) Tail light 168/194/T-10 (5W) Turn Signal 7440 [amber] (21W) Fog light 9006 License plate 168/194/T-10 (5W) Back up light 7440 Front sidemarker 168/194/T-10 (5W) Map light 168/194/T-10 (8W) Dome light 3175 (also fit: 3022/3021/6428/6430) (8W) (1.25", 31mm) Step/Courtesy light 3175/3022/3021/6428/6430 (5W) (1.25", 31mm) Trunk/Cargo area 3022 (also fit: 3175/3021/6428/6430) (5W) (1.25", 31mm)
You know that all new Lexus 2007 MY and onward will have LED brakelights (mabe taillights too?) and licence plate lights. The ones they have for the licence plate lights are similar to what they use for the interior maplights. It's white with a blue or purple tint.
anyone know of any replacement 7440 reverse bulb that has a strobe effect?? been trying to find it everywhere with no luck but i know they make them, at least for older cars
I used these for tail-lights. Perfect fit. They're too wide and long for the front-yellow sidemarkers. Still looking for an appropriate LED replacement.
First off, I am not easily impressed with LEDs, you can really buy junk. For front-yellow side markers try these. (AMAZON link) They are really bright. Even in daytime. The link is for XENON WHITE, but the housing is amber so they look great. I tried 2 other LED bulbs prior to this one. I have had a good experience with Amazon - JDM ASTAR. The price is for 2 bulbs: JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 5730 SMD 194 168 175 2825 W5W T10 LED Bulbs,Xenon White(Brightest T10 Bulb in the market) Also the reverse light I just tried is amazing, tried 2 others before this one. This one lit the front of my neighbor's house (across the street) at night: 1200 Lumens each, the price is for 2 bulbs: JDM ASTAR 1200 Lumens Extremely Bright 144-EX Chipsets 7440 7441 7443 7444 992 LED Bulbs with Projector , Xenon White
It's been over 2.5 years since the last update, so I'm sure that there have been advances in LEDs that mean the bulbs are more efficient so either brighter for the same current draw, or less draw for the same output. Has anyone compared multiple makes of bulbs? I'd love to, but don't have the budget for it right now. I'm mainly looking at 194/168 and 7440 bulbs.
